Uh oh bad news...I went to the biggest and best stocked hobby store in town today and asked the owner where he kept the vacuform kits. After a couple of minutes of him looking at me like I was nuts, he poked around a little and explained that he'd sold off all his vacs en masse to someone after they spent decades unsold gathering dust on the shelf. The owner continued to look at me like I was out on a day pass from the goober farm until I explained it was for a Group Build. This Friday I'm going to my first meeting of the local IPMS chapter and I'll ask around there. Maybe some kind soul has a vac he wouldn't mind getting rid of.

Bri I only wish I could offer you one...but that's my problem: I ONLY HAVE ONE! I'm sure someone hanging around these forums (*cough Baz cough* ;) ) would be more than happy to offer.

Vacs are everywhere...I'm sure your local hobby chapter has bunches, and you'll end up with a focke-wulf *7%479B Longnose Dora with floats.

I'm definately in this GB. I'll ask around at the IPMS meeting. Failing that, I'll ask here (offering fair price of course). If worse comes to worse, I'll order that russian glider kit from Don's Modelworks for $6. I('m excited about this GB because it's an opportunity for me to stretch my skills a little and build something I wouldn't otherwise.

Hey same here Bri - I mean, I've had a French 1/48 Yak-3 in the stash for more than two months now, and I just need a good reason to get it going. Similar story with Baz and a few others.

To start April 1 and run til August 1. Voting 1 til 8. Please please PLEASE can someone make this official? We have at least half a dozen folk wanting to do this, and John Howling Mouse has generously donated a prize for it.

Sent it a coupla days back, not going to hold my breath.  BUT fingers are crossed anyways  ^_^ .
