Gentlemen! We now have wing fences, so now the plane is undeniably 1970s Soviet.

Now, just to patch some holes, fill some gaps, and off to get Mr Surface'd!

Greeble time!

It might seem much, but I deemed it necissary to distract from the flaws in the puttywork(i am not spending another week puttying and reputtying... ) and a stark lack of panel lines. Besides, its a soviet jet... it needs lumps, bumps, doodads, and accessories.

I'll put the IRST on after painting. Weapons so far will be:

2x AS-7 Kerry missiles(off revell frogfoot)
2x Rocket pods
2x AAX-SR (a sorry excuse for AA-11 archers from an italeri sea flanker) on wingtips.

Goober,
Could you please let me know how you did the weapons bay please mate?, I have 2 SU47's waiting to be built and I want to do at least one of 'em with the weapons bay open.

Cheers in advance.

Well, very carefully, i sawed out the weapons bay door, then put a sheet of styrene at front and back ends. For the arching part, it's a single sheet of styrene bent into the bay. Before everything was trimmed to fit, it was all glued in place by carefully pouring CA into the engine intakes and exhaust. Once everything is secure, its safe to cut and sand off the excess. Detail is just label tape strips, .5mm pencil lead, and scrap plastic painted over with aluminum metalizer. I figure It'd fit 6-8 normal sized missiles on a rotary launcher This cutaway shows R-33 missiles, however, these are thicker so i image it'd carry fewer.

I'm still on a quest for 1/72 amraamskis to put inside. But I suppose I might as well come up with an all knew imaginary missile to use.

Update for ya'll.

Almost done, painted in earth-brown and green(i thinned the green way too much, so it looks rather worn out... yeah, uh i meant to do that)  with blue-gray undersides. I'm imagining an operational trials unit in afghanistan.

Cans from the Hobbycraft fulcrum, they came out suprisingly good. The whole donkey-end was tricky, since i just chopped the hornet's fuselage off. Scratching an aerodynamic fairing proved unpossible, so I just capped the hole, put the cans on, and put "chaff dispenser" boxes in between. Ventral fins are now the folding type, since they didnt give enough clearance for the fulcrum's landing gear arrangment.

Weapons pylon count is up to 10, including wing rails. Kind've oddly arranged, but I like them. So far its armed with 2 AA missiles, 2 AS-7 Kerrys, and 2 rocket pods. Im hoping to fill the remaining 4 hardpoints with bombs, a recon pod, and a ECM pod.

Still to do:

Canopy, laser designator/rangefinder(already have IRSTball), and decals..

Pictures when its done!
