Says it all really. Was any provision made in the TSR.2 design for IFR? Since I could only get one Airfix kit I'm planning on whiffing that to the nines while my Heritage one goes for the boring white scheme (my CO doesn't want a whiffed one for the Sqn display).

So, was there a built in retractable probe that can be scrathbuit or would a buccaneer style rhino horn be appropriate?

TIA, chaps.
Do not despair for Johnny head-in-air,
He sleeps as sound as Johnny underground.
Fetch no shroud for Johnny in-the-cloud,
And keep your tears for him in later years.
 Better by far for Johnny-th-bright-star,
To keep your head and see his children fed.

I'd say go for a Rhino horn, unless you're looking at a later tranche model in which case it'll have the retractable.

I dont give my CO any choice Craig. But then again Being A CI I have much more room to move when it comes to telling a flight luiey were to shove it LOL.

Thanks for the reminder on the IFR probe location Lee, forgot about that.
I always hope for the best.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Cheers for that Wooksta, just thought I'd check here before going ahead with it although a rhino horn jobby might look pretty cool.

Martin, the problem isn't really my boss since he'd love to have a proper RAF TSR.2 on his model shelf but the Sqn has a regional inspection upcoming and our current group captain is apparently well known for sense of humour failures. As a result I'm going flat out to get a resin one knocked together for the inspection and if she so wishes she can fail to be amused by my in progress SAAF "uber upgraded"example.

So Craig, the GC really is a SWMBO!

:D  :D

Cheers Lee. I've only really got a far as cleaning up the bits and pieces and generally trying to pluck up the courage to get started (the last resin kit I had a go of was a bit of a disaster for me) so I'm in the fortunate position of not really having done anything wrong yet. Hopefully I'll be able to get some in progress pics up at some point.

Jeeze, your GC's a woman. no wonder the sense of humour failure is there.
