Just quickly, do I have to use CA or can ordinary plastic cement work?

Use CA, the regular glue for plastic models it´s made from the same plastic used in the kits, so it wont be able to  fix the resin pieces.....

Careful which one you buy, the hobby store ones come in different cure times and the insta-cure is 1-3 seconds, absolutely NO room for error or sliding something into place.
Personally I prefer the stuff I buy at wal mart two 3g bottles yellow label red top  for 99 cents way cheaper and it works great.

The stuff I got is "Hot Stuff", sets in 10 seconds or so. Hopefully I didn't make a $12 mistake.

10 seconds is plenty of time it's the "instant " stuff thats tricky to use.

I'll back up what Leigh says. I always used a medium glue with a longish drying time when I'm sticking resin together.

Zac,

2-part epoxy is always a good choice. Most of them have about a 5 minute setting time, so major mistakes are few and far between.
