This hand coloured photo shows this Ford Tri-motor from Maddux Air Lines over the Bay. Taken in 1928, a few months before the company was taken over by Transcontinental and Western Air.

Most excellent! if it weren't for the shadows on the aircraft going a different direction than the shadows in the photo I would have been fooled as well.
