COMRADES!!!!

Is GLORIOUS day in GREAT Soviet Union!!

Presented for military parade is Kamov's newest helicopter, the Ka-58 Black Ghost, though I think "Black Shark" or "Dark Rum-runner" would be more appropriate.  This is our answer to the decadent West's Sikorsky RAH-66, a helicopter that we know will be fielded in large numbers against our superiour tank forces!

The nightmare of M1A1 Abrams guarded by legions of RAH-66's was enough to cause one sleepless night in the Kremlin, and Kamov was commissioned to build up a stealth version of their Ka-52!  Truly, such a helicopter could tip the balance in the face of NATO aggression!

We may be outnumbered at the moment, though, but factories in Minsk and Baku have been ordered to build these in preparation for a counter-attack!  The RAH-66, while lazy design, simply out numbers our own superior helicopter force right now!  We must...

(aide whispers something from the side of the podium)

What?  They have how many RAH-66's?

(whispers)

That many?  You're sure, tovarish?

(nods)

Comrades, my apologies.  One of our most honorable beuracrats forwarded on a memo to me that had a few misprints.  It seems our superior helicopter force will NOT be outnumbered by the decadent RAH-66, as the West cancelled in, probably to allow the funding to go to CIA Psychics or something.

In any case, I now present the Ka-58, now the stealthiest helicopter in the world!!

(This is a 1/72 Zvezda Ka-58 kit.  It was an easy build, though the weapons bay doors were a little tricky, as well as the Hellfireskis and their trapeze.  The rotors, as with all coaxial systems, were a pain to assemble, though they went together easier than the old Ertl Hokum kit.)

Woah Comrade Anatoly that beastie looks very capable of kicking some severe Capitalist running dog donkey! I'm not much of a rotorhead, but builds like this could change my mind! Excellent work! A crate of vodka to the glorious workers of the Peoples' Defense Factory #147 in the workers' paradise!

I also like the "stealth" hangar...camouflaged to look like an ordinary garage!

  Neat chopter!

This does look like a kit to add to the wish list. Once again Anthony I think you have chosen the perfect scheme for this particular helo. :)
