I finally picked up one of Hasegawa's 1/48 A-4s...I can't believe I waited this long. It's truly a great kit. The cockpit detail was superb. I just replaced the seat with a resin ESCAPAC from Cutting Edge. This will eventually be built as a what-if Irish Air Corps A-4, circa 1972.

These were taken before my camera's batteries died, so I'll get some more photos when it's back up an running.

Any excuse for a Skyhawk is a good excuse!!!! I for one can't wait to see more!
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

The weather today was nice enough to paint. Started to decal this evening.

Wow.....is that ever nice !

Great job on the cockpit....especially the seat and harness as well as the sidewalls. Cool !

And man, that looks good in that green w/ those roundels. Never really been a fan of IAC stuff, but this, this just looks right. Can't wait to see her all done as well.

Are Scooters the coolest looking a/c ever ? Or what ?

Beautiful!!!    Can't wait for your next post!

I'm working on an RCN Skyhawk and am planning an Irish A-4 next.  My Irish Skyhawk will be post-modernization with as many bells & whistles as the IAAC can afford.

Gorgeous in green! I love it, so well done. U/C down or up?

Decals are finished. I wasn't happy with the larger fuselage roundel, so I replaced it with a smaller one. The large roundel had been MicroSol-ed on, so I had to sand it off and retouch the paint. I'm much happier with the smaller decal; it looks more in line with what the real markings might have looked like.

Flaps and slats were painted red and the landing gear wells were given a first coat of white. More white and detail painting to follow. Then we weather...

Agreed, that is a slick scooter...

Progress continues. Finished painting the gear wells, then Futured them in preparation for weathering. I used my usual oils+lighter fluid combination. Obviously it's a more...finicky process on darker colors but, in the right light, it works well.

More as things progress...

Some minor progress tonight. Landing gear and tanks installed. Waiting for the AIM-9s to dry. Next time you see this, it will be finished.
