then there's the Belgian MirSip upgrade to the Mirage 5.
basicly an F-16 stuffed into a Mirage 5 airframe.
it never entered Belgian service, but 20 of them, allong with 5 non-upgraded 5BD 2-seaters, were sold to Chile, where they flew under the name "Elkan" until 2006.

I think those look very easily done, I shall have to convert some of my Mirage III/50's in to some of those.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nah, they can't fool me. Just painting 'Draken' onto the fuselage of a Cheetah or a Mirage F1 doesn't make them into Drakens.  :o

They have at least to be painted in the amazing SwAF dazzle camo to make it work.  ;) ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

In 1970, I was a little boy and I read in Tanguy&Laverdure cartoon that the Mirage III defeated easily the MiG-21, but... this was a cartoon. "True"-life: seeing the MiG-21 outperformed the Mirage III and V, Dassault designed the Mirage 521 with Delta+tailplanes:

The typical Mirage air intakes were replaced on export licence built versions:

The Mirage 5 S (ST for export) Sand Timer had a very long range, with kerosene in the big wing:

The Mirage Diamond also had a very long range:

While the Concorde was a commercial failure, its Dassault equivalent was sold in 3,456 copies!:
