The most incredible is remembering the "kit" aspect before building ( http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index...?showtopic=9303 ). Glenn, you are a Master of scratch-building, indeed...

OK, sprayed overall in chrome, less the anti-corrosive black hull, and the de-icing boots added to tails and wings.
Also, the cockpit and windows done.

The chrome paint is from an aussie company called White Knight, I originally bought it to make a Star Wars model.

Glenn, you've got another winner there! I just love your flying boat projects! I can't wait to see her wearing those Pan-Am markings!

Amazing!
Is this a triple decker? How many passengers? How many people in the incredible cockpit with so many windows...?
Could you give us also a scale indicator, as a tea spoon for the model and a 10ft*10ft square paper at the scale of the 1/1 seaplane? Thanks!

OK, there she is, flying over the island of Curacao, (well actually my back yard)
and.............what's that, what is it? Oh, sorry this is a Consolidated Mega-Clipper, born and died, 1940 cause she, with the other two designs was too big. Who could afford to fly in something like this, 150 passengers with more money than sense.
A troop transport I hear you ask, but why, the US weren't at war!
Tophe, the scale is 1/180 and her wing span is 230mm. As you view this shot, try to feel the 4x2300HP radial engines throbing as she gains altitude.

Plans, thanks to Paul. (friend of Tophe's)
Decals, Minicraft DC-3 model 1/144sc.

I sent this shot to Paul just before sending this, and asked him 'what's next?'

Beautiful Glenn, you've done it again mate.

Man, that is so cool. You know, that is so neat that you can up and do somthing like that. I am too nervous to take on a project that demanding.

Very sweet

Man do I love those huge flying boats   Tremendous stuff Glenn - watching your in-progress shots was like a trip back to the 50's. Could have almost been on "Blue Peter" with Val and Chris  :)

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Are there simply 3-bladed propellers and only one engine per propeller? Such a huge bird could have needed eight engines of that time, and double propellers, no?
Anyway this may stand (or float, or fly with your Photoshop skills, dear Glenn) as the very top achivement of the piston era.
