ohhh another skyvan whiff.

Ive already done one in RAF mid east marks. and one of the Coventry & warwickshire boys did this one a while back. (He is also a what if? sig member)

Shorts Skyvandle, built by Richard Brooker.
U can see the miniguns in the back window and the zuni pod under the wing, what u cant see is the depth charge type rack on the rear ramp for rolling 45 gallon drums of Napalm out the back.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Oh yeah that looks right, one mean little f....er. That's the way a skyvan should be!

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Yikes, is that ever tough looking ! Such a cool little bird, with so much WI potential. Mine's gonna end up RCAF or Canadian Army as an SOA type. Maybe airdropping snowmobiles around Alaskan airbases or somat.......but I don't really want to paint it white.......

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Finally got the Skyvan kit.  Now, not sure I have enough time to get it finished.

By the way, anyone have the Omani decals from the original issue they would like to part with?

Man, if that isn't the mantra of a true Whiffer!!!   ;)

It's been a month since we saw the wings, etc you're using - any progress on the fuselage?
Life's too short to apply all the stencils

Mike Wren

funny you should mention it but the model is now finished (photos to follow later in the week), so the 'fuselage' is mated to the wings, but that's all I can say 'cause it's a suprise  ;)

Shorts of Belfast & the Ford Motor Company saw an emerging market in the mid 1960s for the tradesman who was in a hurry, so, by scaling down their new Skyvan aircraft's wings & tail unit and fitting them to Ford's new Transit van, the Shorts-Ford SkyTransitVan was the result.

unfortunately unsufficient thought was put into how the vehicle would travel along ordinary roads once it reached it's destination, with numerous cases of the wings being ripped off by other traffic or roadside buildings meaning the mk.2 variant with folding wings soon replaced it on the production lines at Belfast & Langley...

the wings & bits are from the Airfix Skyvan, the Transit is 1/43 Corgi die-cast  ;)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Oh man Mike it's a very bad thing to shoot coffee out one's nose first thing in the morning!   I absolutely LOVE it! The "clean me" is just icing on the cake!

I think we may have a winner.
