I found a precious document to help me : a 3-views of the sonic Cruiser (in an old french aviation magazine of march 2002). I must scan it!
I'm interested in using the wings of the model as part of the delta wing of the Sonic cruiser (don't  know if it is possible because of the swept and length so may be brand new wings would be better). As soon as possible I try to found a 777 model and then start the sonic cruiser... stay tunned to this thread!!!

French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Wots the intakes of the Sonic Cruiser look like?

Apparently they were oval (this would be the most difficult part to make). I must scan this 3-view of the sonic Cruiser this week!!!

Archibald, that supersonic business jet is still very much alive. There currently are 2 aircraft, one made by suchoi/gulfstream, and the other bu tupolev. The Suchoi version is to be able of flying supercruise without making any supersonic boom, thus it can fly supersonice over land. The tupolev is just a plain old mini-concordsky, except i think its supercruise. If they are to become effecient, they cannot go past mach 2, but at lower speeds they should be quite economical.

No sonic boom? Good luck with that...

I think there is still a sonic boom, but due to the configuration of the aircraft it doesn't travel at much of a downward angle, but almost parallel to the flight path. By the time it does get near the ground its energy has pretty much dissipated.

Evan, I think we need your expertise here!  ^_^

That SSBD modified F-5 looks like some sort of tropical reef fish.  Now that'd be a good Whif color scheme....

Dassault had studied a SSBJ from march 1999 but the project died because of its engines: militaries engines had short lives, Boeing/Airbus engines were too bigs, new engines were too expensives... the project still wait its engine otherwise it is well define.

B777LR,

Thanks for that.  I don't want to sound sceptical, but I will wait until there is a prototype role out of either of these new Russian SSBJs until I am convinced – I live in hope though.  There have been many announcements of new projects coming out of Russia over the last 15 yrs and very few have materialised into anything beyond drawings.

Whilst on the topic of Russian SSBJ proposals here are a couple of Military conversions:

The late-1990s proposed conversion of Tu-22M-3 bombers into a business jet for 10-12 passengers:

and the MiG-25 Business Jet:

I plan to create a what-if Aeroflot version of this later one someday.
