Possible whiff? this scheme really suites the P-63 I feel.

Perhaps a P-39 with a jet and spitfire /mustang wings?
In my opinion, British, Canadian, or USAF markings make things look so much better...

and while we're at it, a 'conventional' P-39...

Might even move the intake to the chin, away from the nose MG muzzles and pilot line of sight like P-40?
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

Dy: I think Greg intended that engine to be an Allison V-1710 which has a down-draught carb.

Hello, everyone :)

I do like messing with never-built planes, and was posting about them in other forums.
Please take a look at my take about the venerable P-39, in pusher variant:

NARSES2

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

GTX

Certainly more appealing than the pusher I did a page back ;D.

Night-a-Cobra!!!
No hull weapons, radar dish is in a pod under central wing, 4 x HMGs depicted.

If you add back in the turbocharger that the Army removed from the prototype P-39s, then that dual fighter might make a decent high altitude interceptor.

If you keep the 37mm onboard, that would be one terrifying plane to deal with.  I really, really like this.

Anyone got good images of the brit mods for the P-39, with the smaller cannon?  I'm wondering if something like stepping down to a 30mm in the nose, pulling all the MGs, and then adding a 20mm to each wing might make an even better attack aircraft.  A Mk 101 or 103 weighs too much, but a 108 is more than light enough - sure it's German, but I don't know of any similar large-bore gun for the Americans.  Smaller shells mean more ammo, anyway.  A pair of Hispano HS.404s should balance it out, I think.  Thoughts?  I'm tempted to mod this up somehow; I've got an eye on an AU Airacobra project...
