Chaps,

I was browsing the shelves in my local model shop and saw the Italeri UH-19A Chickasaw kit, the one which has the aircraft with the float undercarriage fitted.  (I only saw the end of the box)

Does anyone know if the kit has the normal undercarriage as well, or just the floats?

Cheers

I got that one, but it's all packed away !

I'm pretty sure it has the wheels as well.......

They made a separate version with the wheels.
think the float version just has floats but there are some wheels that attach to the floats which may be included.
Haven't looked in the box though so worth hearing from CC or someone else with the kit.

Yes, it has all the bits for the wheeled variant.

Magic!

I shall drop by today on my way home and pick it up.

It will probably be a non-whif, as I have a set of Belcher Bit decals for both RCAF and RCN versions, that are just crying out to be used.

Cheers

I built the Italeri one a few years back, and having fondled my new RoG one, they seem rather the same.

Which boxings are you speaking of? They've done the RAF and RN birds, plus the Cormorant....there must be at least 4 or 5 different boxings now.

Let me know and I'll check the stash.   ;)

Captain Canada

I bought the Rog Merlin HMA.1. It was 26 bucks. The Italeri Merlin was 25, and the Italeri Cormorant was 29 !

Ahh, right then, you did yourself a favor. The RoG kit has the added parts fret "E" with weapons pylons, torpedos, aerials, etc. - that one isn't provided in the Italeri HAS.1 kit. The decal sheet is also much better; even if you don't consider the tiger stripes portion, RoG's sheet is two to three times larger, and the colors appear better.

The Cormorant kit is related to the RoG Merlin HC.1 kit, but I've read that it needs a lot of work to make a proper Cormorant replica.

Here's one write-up:

Not seen any on-line reviews. Apparently it is amongst us.... Not a plane I would want to WhIf, just one I've always liked.

If anybody has a link to an on-line or written review, I'd be obliged. Thanx in advance.

It's the MPM kit which is apparantly OK.
I've an Airfix one I was originally to do in civil markings, but now it'll be "30s cold War"

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I was wondering if it would be the MPM kit. I couldn't imagine two separate companies developing kits of one of the more unsung aircraft at the same time independently from each other.

I wonder if they'll keep the Italeri Hudson out of the Czech Republic to protect MPM's domestic sales?

They are different versions Upnorth - MPM have the early versions, Italeri the late. Italeri is abot £5 cheaper then the MPM in the UK as well

QuoteJust begs the question - is the forthcoming Italeri Wellington the MPM kit?
I think so  :D
