Nope i think you will find they were set with an estimated delivery date by Wonderland for the end of 2010 and its now the end of 2010.

Its not in stock with Creative models they have set their estimated delivery as by Dec 2011 (next year !!) - Creative actually have an active stock guide of a traffic light power rating, green in stock, amber low stock and red out of stock.

I suspect the first we will see of the Canberra is when it appears on the Italeri website, we may get a clearer idea in the next month or two when the new 2011 range is announced.

Oops, missed that when I scanned the page.  Oh, well, I won't hold off buying an Airfix Canberra then...

Are the Airfix and Italeri bomber Canberras the same kit? They've doubled up before, the Horsa and the Chinook come immediately to mind, and there may be others too.

Kit. I thought the Italeri Canberra was from the MPM stable (as was the Hudson) I MAY WELL BE WRONG THOUGH
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I think your right and thats the reason why Airfix have held off with the 72nd bomber variantas they know this one is due, should it fail to appear in 2011 than no doubt Airfix will line up theirs for 2012 instead.

When I asked the Airfix guys they said there were no plans for any more 72nd scale Canberras  :banghead:

Gondor

I received emails from Hannants this week saying that Italeri have withdrawn both the 1/72 F-35 and the 1/72 Canberra B2/6.

There was some talk of this on Flugzeugforum.de as well. They said the ATR-42 is also cancelled. :o
"Modelldoc" said that there's a 1/72 Canberra in the works by MPM, which may have to do with Italeri cancelling theirs (considering Italeri also reboxed MPM's Wimpey and Hudson).

Anyway, I hope this prompts Airfix to reconsider their stance on further Canberras in 1/72. Particularly hoping for a B-57.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Green Dragon

They may not be cancelled, there were emails about the Airfix 1/48th Lynx AH.7 and 1/72nd Harrier GR.9 being cancelled but they are just bunging the price bands up so the code numbers had to be changed. Lynx is jumping from series 8 to series 10.
Maybe Italeri are doing the same?

Well hannants were playing with their database last week and i suspect updates triggered these emails, i had one regarding the Cyberhobby Daring which they had listed as 8093 when its actually 7093.

Wait for the Nurenberg Toy Fair to discover what Italeri are doing

Waiting will be what I am doing. Way too much stuff to build at the moment.

Canberra is still reported to be on track.  The G.222 sounds good (what I've actually wanted more than the C-27).
