IF it's the CA3 then like you, I'm stunned and incredibly happy too :D

sure CA 3 would be a big and welcome surprise !!!

The 1/72 B-52 is tempting.

I think SM-82 is of Supermodel pedigree. Interesting but hardly "new" , same for the AMT B52 which had the added fact of duplicating an earlier Monogram effort

Hey JC,

Monogram's BUFF was a D model and quite primitive.  AMT's effort is of the H with all the associated lumps and bumps and the only version still in frontline service with the USAF.

I saw it written up on Hyperscale recently with some shots of the sprues. Looks nice, but they still haven't fixed the APU region to make it properly represent the current configuration.

The decal sheet looks nice, but they made the same mistake with the Czech decals that they did with their 1/48 single seater in that they used two shades of grey for the roundels, but in reality the Czech roundel is a single shade of grey.

You can remedy both the APU problem and the Czech decal issue by picking up the 1/48 correction set that Extratech makes for the single seat grippen. It has accurate decals for Czech versions and enough numbers to do any Gripen in the Czech inventory including the two seaters.

Additionally, it has a PE feret that includes the correct APU door configuration and several other nice touches.

Here's a link to the Extratech set:

$47 for a 1/48 Hawk?  I got a Tamiya F-16CJ for less at the LHS.  Sounds a bit steep even with a bit of PE thrown in.

Anyway, this is the first time I've seen the release date given.  Sorry if it's old news.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

The UK RRP is £20, so it is cheaper over here (Tamiya Viper = £28).  Sounds like its going to be one of Italeri's "collectors" boxings - I have their 1/35 Staghound, super little kit, comes with EB and a decent booklet with a full walkaround in it, as well as a good decal sheet with plenty of different options.

The Airfix kit ain't bad, especially for a tenner, but the cockpit is pitiful for this scale and a Neomega set is essential (and expensive).  If Italeri can put a half decent cockpit in there...

47 USD for a  Hawk!?

Thanks but a Hasegawa Skyhawk is cheaper...

G'day Gang,

Not sure if this has been noted already, but Italeri's re-release of the B-35 is up on IPMS Deutschland.  Nice big pics of all the bits & decals.

If they are the 2009 releases, then I am very unimpressed!! There is really nothing there that grabs my interest at all. Like Geoff, I'd love an AMX, but it's not likely to happen anytime soon is it?

In the latest Combat Aircraft magazine there's a small article which says that the Italian Airforce is getting some Piaggio Avantis kitted out for 'Specialized flight-inspection'.  Maybe Italeri will now put out an injection kit of these   But I'm not holding my breath, 14 Stormo have these in operation already.
