They should bring back the 1/72 YF-23 Black Widow!!!
The YF-23 was in the last survey they did a few weeks ago which was for reissues from the back catalogue. I voted for it on FB but it didn't make it. A couple of WW2 Italian tanks in 1/35th and a load of cars and trucks in 1/24th got through but IIRC only three planes, the SM-81 Pipistrello and SM82 Marsupiale in 1/72nd and the SR-71A/B in 1/48th.

Paul Harrison

Yup, i found out when i visited their facebook page yesterday...  IMHO, bad choice!! When will we be blessed with a new YF-23 kit in 1/72?  :banghead:

Pipistrello was Supermodel and IIRC was repopped in Supermodel boxing.
Marsupiale is Italeri tooling and has good interior detail including paratrooper seats.  It's fairly large.  I have one in my stash.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The most recent Pipistrello boxing here in the UK is in an Italeri box with an illustration of one dropping what look like tins of baked beans on to a British road convoy. Boxing has 6 really good schemes in it

Concur re the size of the Marsupiale. I was surprised at the size of the box when I got it
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

zenrat

I see what you mean about the baked beans.  It appears they also repopped it in the Supermodel box but without the super decal sheet (or the baked beans).

I talked my LHS into dropping the price of my Marsupiale by $10 as the box was trashed at one end.

Italeri has announced they are going to reissue the XB-70 kit:

I'd  be happy if they added a Sycamore too, always liked that tubby upside-down ceiling fan.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I was also surprised to see that the 1:72 RB-66 kit re-appreared again. Four different aircraft included, three in NMF and one in SEA camouflage (like the kit's first issue).

Any idea about the price? Going rate on evilbay seems to be 50€ plus postage for the previous boxing.

The RB-66 is a lovely kit...made a few in the day. Now there's a good Skywarrior as well they'd make a great pairing.

chrisonord

That RB-66 would make a good K-66 for the Honduras airforce, as they are short on such aircraft. I converted one many years ago into a Sky warrior by changing the nose shape and doing it in Navy low viz colour and decals for the strike wing.

I'm going to look into both the XB 70 and the B 66. Nice bonus from work so I have to spend a little before the wife spends the rest.

I thought about converting one into an airliner (imagine a Pan Am version?)... I think this was even seriously considered - there's just enough space in that big, boxy thing.

Nice idea Dizzy, maybe even a military transport, that is carrier capable??

The USN had a VIP transport version of the Skywarrior, so why not?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
