Quote from: lancer on November 04, 2008, 03:01:53 PMIf they are the 2009 releases, then I am very unimpressed!! There is really nothing there that grabs my interest at all. Like Geoff, I'd love an AMX, but it's not likely to happen anytime soon is it?

CyberModeler has posted a list of Italeri kits scheduled to be released in December 2008.  Is that close enough?

I was quite happy to see the Crusader III AA Mk.1 on the list until I saw the (US)$59.00 MSRP which really turned my happy moment into a sad moment.  I expected the worse for the 1/48th scale CH-47D Chinook and it was as expected but I have to say that $25.00 for a box of 1/32nd scale Templar Knights is down right stupid.

The wait is over, Modelversium.de now has a kit review of the new 1/48th scale Italeri #2669, Hawk T. Mk. 1 for all to see and appreciate.  The European price is certainly reasonable but I suspect that it will be double that when they unload the kit on this side of the pond for consumption.

Checking the Italeri page resulted in a surprise on the front page in the form of an announcement for the die cast Piaggio Ape now available in 1/32nd and 1/18th scale in four different versions spanning 1956 through 1994.  Very interesting little three wheel vehicle that might be a better choice for many considering the current cost for fuel.  The Ape Cross Country version looks like it could be an interesting model subject for conversion to a gun truck...  ;^)

Yup Italeri's kits have gotten pretty much out of my price range. I doubt I've purchased one in the last six years and everytime I see something from them I like, I choke at the price.

I too used to buy a lot of Italeri kits as they were, to me good value for money and pretty straight forward to build. Now the price of the kits in my LMS has gone up stupidly and the choice of new interesting stuff is well...non existent. I think a lot of manufactures need to get off their backsides and start making new interesting stuff at a price that wont make you weep, otherwise the economic climate will kill them off. Our hobby is no longer a cheap and affordable one any more.

I see the Staghound AA has PE with it.

The first release did as well Steve - cracking little kit.  I just need an excuse to build it now...

Meanwhile, where oh where is their 1/48 Merlin?

Modellversium.de has a couple of kit reviews for your viewing pleasure.

First up is the the (former Accurate Miniatures' mold)Italeri #2673, 1/48th scale SBD-5 Dauntless.  The price has gone up a bit since this kit was originally released by Accurate Miniatures several years ago.  It is still a really nice kit and has many details that were overlooked in the Monogram kit and the Otaki copy with the electric motor feature.

The next item is a new release and should make the 1/35th scale naval modelers happy since it is the long awaited, should have been included in the damned kit to start with -
Italeri #5606, 1/35th scale PT Boat Crew for the ELCO 80' PT Boat or any other modeling subject that is in dire need of figures sporting puffy looking flotation vests.  At least the figures are all in different poses but the details are quite soft.

Michael Benolkin just posted an in-box kit review with images of everything that comes in the new Italeri #2669, 1/48th scale BAE Hawk T.Mk.1 and it is available for review on CyberModeler

Looks like an improvement over the 1/48th scale Premiere and Airfix kits of the same subject but that $47.00 is a real turn off.

Ok, I asked it over here, and since somebody hid this over here when I thought it would be like the Airfix File, in General, I guess I went too narrow of a search, so I'll copy it here.

For starters, their website contact page is worthless when it comes to filing an email - has anybody ever gotten a working email from them?  It'd be wonderful if that were to be shared with the group, since you can't request parts or such from them.  Every time I try and use the page, I get an application timeout error.  So anybody who's ever been in contact and happened to save the email address, please, do share with the rest of the crowd.

If not, somebody who won't be charged an arm and a leg on long distance who happens to speak Italian might wish to call them up and curse at them for having a broken contact webpage.  Just our luck, the number would be out of service too.

We must ensure contact!  Parts and Suggestions for everyone!!

I managed to contact someone at Italeri sometime ago, the reply I got was to contact the official Italeri distributer in the country I live in.  Since then that is what I've done, with some success but not everytime.

Well the Re 2000 in 1/72 and Re 2002 in 1/48 should be out shortly. An AB43 (might be a re-issue) and a Autocannon Ro3 in the 1/72 scale armour range.  Other then that the armour and aircraft so far announced are re-issues I think, they do have some 1/24 scale cars though - mean nout to me

So the 1/48 Merlin has been dropped from their catalogue?  Wondering if we'll ever see it....
