Quote from: Pellson on January 25, 2024, 01:26:10 PMI still haven't gotten around to procure the 1:72 AMX - which is bordering on blasphemy considering how long I've been waiting for it to get kitted!! Embarrassing..  :banghead:

You really should hurry up. It is a lovely looking kit in the box

Italeri 1/12 Lancia Stratos has been released.

UK price is £200-£230, it can be found a fair bit cheaper overseas. I'm tempted, only slightly though...

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

My first reaction was  :o  :o , but then I realised the scale and how many hours enjoyment someone with an interest in model cars (not me  ) would get from it. So it's probably reasonable value, anyway it's all relative.

Put it on your Christmas List Mossie  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Its quite a bit cheaper if you order from the continent,  there's one going for £135 plus £10 shipping,  and several others still a lot cheaper than Hannants and Jadlam are asking.

I'd be laughed at I put it on my Christmas list, my family firmly believe I have enough models! It have to be a present to myself, although I've got to be honest, it'd sit on the shelf.

Oooh I like the look of that.
It's huge, and stupidly expensive but its a Stratos.

The CG image is not of the car in the box art.  It's a street version rather than a rally car.  Which i'd rather build TBH.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I didn't so much see that Stratos pic as HEAR it!   :o

I watched a few stages of the RAC Rally in '74, I think, and the Stratos's V6 'howl' was so distinctive above the much more gruff RS Escort 4 cylinder engines. You could tell when a Stratos was coming as everyone's noses seemed to be connected by piano wire as we all turned to look.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Captain Canada

Stratos was always my favourite Rally Car as a kid. I've got a couple really cool Dinky's from Japan of her.

I do have a big problem with the Stratos..that problem is me!!
I can't bloody fit in one comfortably...my bulk was/ is to large and it's seats are to small 😢
A most depressing situation 😕  :banghead:
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

The CG is the rally car, note the bulged
rear fenders.

And I missed the fact that the wing is on the tilted engine cover not the roof.
Driving lights might be hidden by the bodywork but I can't see a roll cage.

Good to see the Bugatti Royale Coupe Napoleon back and the new tool Fulvia looks interesting.
Repopping the A-26 Invader means I might actually be able to get my hands on one.

Completely agree with JCF. It's about time they make a model of the Fulvia!

Interesting... May have to get one of those Invaders for a RW PoAF used in the Colonial wars but what got my attention was the Fiat G.91R, which is the old but nice Esci kit, same as with the Mirage F.1.
Will have to wait and see if the Kittyhawk/Zimi model Mirage F.1 becomes available again and Kinetic's future kit of the Gina comes out or not.
