That C-27 is just dying to be made into an AC-27, I will have to have one or two of those for sure. Maybe put the screwtop on one from an E-2c Hawkeye on one.

The USAF is looking at that exact mod for some of their C-27J's, calling it the AC-27J "Stinger II."

Would it be a reasonable donor for an HS 681 deriviative?

Thinking more DH-129

I don't know why you want to back dated the C-27, as the RAF has no small/medium transports at the mo' it would be ideal for flying stuff into the bases in country in Afghanistan.

We aint got any money to pay for them Aircav! ;D
Reckon it would be a good fit in the RAF too.

Pity the Stinger II is on hold now, I was looking forward to some video of one with all guns blazing! There was some talk of fitting a gunship pallet into some refurbished Herc H's to save money but I don't know how far that went.

Thinking of doing the real world FRP equipped Lithuanian C-27J if I get hold of one. Then I'll need to get another for a whiffy Canadian version....then probably another for the Morroccan Air Force. And they will probably stay in the stash forever coz I'm so slow at building stuff!

I have to admit, that C-27 is a very tempting kit - the problem will always be the price. Some of Italeri's (own mold) releases recently have been laughingly expensive, especially in 1:48...... (witness the Reggiane and Ar196 !)

Too true Ian, I think they got infected with a touch of the "Hasegawa's"!

I was in a model shop the other day looking at their armour, your looking at nine quid for an Italeri 1/72 tank, compared to a fiver for Airfix's 1/76 range.  The Revell 1/72 tank kits were about seven quid, but I notice on Hannats they're a similar price to Italeri now.

Earlier in the year at the same shop I paid fifteen quid for an Italeri 1/72 F-16, I was daft, but I particularly wanted the decals.  They had the Hasegawa kit for eight quid.  As long as we pay it, they'll charge it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Ian the Reggiane was the first kit I have ever put back on the shelf because of the price, they, or more likely the importers are just getting greedy. Plus the fall in value of the £ to the Euro over the last couple of years does't help
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Ian the Kiwi Herder

Yep I did that with the Reggiane too, and the Kinetec F-84F rebox..... And I LOVE the old Thunderstreak. It's all fairly accademic for me anyways as I'm saving my limited number of pennies for the up-coming Trumpeter A-1 Skyraider..... in 1:32  - Just how much shelf space is that muvva going to occupy !

Not sure if this means that it is now available but it appears this site is selling the new Canberra B.2/B.20 kit from Italeri

http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/italeri-172-english-electric-canberra-b2b6/

Creative Models is also reporting it "in stock"

http://www.migproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=25&products_id=15236

Hannants does not yet list it as "in stock" though.

Anybody able to get one and report on it?
