Hi guys and gals!

Well I've been hardpressed to find the motivation to carry on with these two kits but finally my black cloud of funk has dissipated and I feel eager to continue!

On to the PICS!

First up is the Hawk.180: I've puttied and sanded the back cockpit to make it an enclosed faring for fuel and avionics. ALOT of sand, putty, repeat went into it but I'm happy with the outcome. One thing I did discover was that with the Hawk kits (or mine at least) Airfix didn't intend for you to do them in-flight because the doors on mine were only partial, resulting in the first biggish scratchbuilt items for me, the main gear doors! Otherthan that and nicking a few bits n pieces all went well with the build...

Next up is the FV-9, again this is a fairly straight forward build, the soon to be painted EJ seat is from a Haegawa Hornet. The kit overall is quite nice I'm sure JMN's will point out all the flaws to me and then throw a ton of resin at it but I think it looks good.  About the only thing wrong with the kit is that the wings and horizontal stabs need to be re-scribbed...oh and there was some (alot) of putty involved (well for me anyhow).

Seriously intriguing.  I wouldn't know what to add, though.  Just an awesome paintjob, I guess.

Looking G>oo<d !
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

On my own recent Hawk pair I added an afterburning nozzle from a Typhoon to give the 100 and 200 'Jaguar-esque' performance (the other mods needed to achieve this cannot be seen in 1:72  ;)  )

I don't know if that has any relevance to your models or not but keep up the good work either way.

Waynos, I am definitley going to keep your idea for my next Hawk!! Those two look awesome!

ok a quick update but without a pic. I've secured and blended in the re-fueling probeon the Hawk 180 so it looks like it belongs there now :)
