oh crap.  Now you've gone and spoiled my suprise!

Leigh

Or 15" Guns that shoot Hedgehogs now that would be a surprise,  heading into Alvis territory now.

K back to matter at hand. Greg do me a favour and keep us posted  every step of the way on this one. I've got the Revell S-Boot and I'm dying to build it but it's scaring me a bit, where are the wings? Would love to watch someone else put one together. I made the Airfix E-Boat when I was a kid and that was one of my faves but then again I was a kid.
What about a Bofors gun on the front? or do they already have one?

Leigh

The guy who doesn't know which end of a boat is the front.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Leigh: after building well over a dozen of these boats, I can guarantee you that they are a total blast ! (plug:you should join the ptbuild on fsm too) The fit is excellent, and the problems minimal...also, there is hardly any rigging, plus a lot of modifications you could make if you choose...

Aside from the negs from jmns, here is the base mounting for the 88... a bit of styrene and a lot of putty to make it fit:

John Howling Mouse

Cool but has me thinking "Star Wars" from this last shot.

Beauty primer: what do you use?
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Krylon grey auto primer (sandable) rattle can...just wait for the backstory...it's already been sold!

Vicious sea-badgers? consider them written into the backstory! (oddly enough, sea badgers have popped up in other stories from time to time)
In this venue, the Americans have joined forces with the Germans to defeat the expanding British empire.  It has more plot twists than Jerry Lee Lewis.

B777LR

Youd nearly have to make platforms that can fold down, so that loading crew can get behind the gun, when fiing a broadside.

cthulhu77

Yep, we figured that the cannon would not be able to traverse more than 45 degrees from the stern center, so no broadsides! (it would capsize the boat)

Captain Canada

Boats have all sorts of funky things under them now, so I'mn sure you could rig somat up to stabalize her when firing broadsides.....

I'd love to join the GB, but all my PT boat ideas have nowt to do with actual torpedoes !

Maybe an aeroplane carrying a torpedoe ? On the back of a Vosper ? Would that count ?

Now, where is my Centaurus powered Lysander/Grumman Duck project packed away to..........October, you say ?

;)
CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Long Live the Commonwealth !!!
Vive les Canadiens !
Where's my beer ?

You could always put outriggers on the boat. That should resolve the capsizing problem shouldn't it??? :D  :D  :D  :D

Ah, Captain Otto and his trusty sidekick Ernst are back again:

April 7th, 1946, Off the coast of Egypt:

Captain Prien glared at the dhows that blocked his way, the dirty sails hung in the morning light like an old lady's soiled knickers. It was tempting to put a bow shot right through the lot of them, sinking the leaking hulls with only one well placed shell, but with the victory at Tobruk, all the German staff had been told to be on their best behaviour, and to above all be extremely polite to the sheikhs that ruled this barren patch of hellish land, for they had massive oil reserves. Hmm. As well as the entire control of the dockworkers, who offloaded the cases of 88mm ammo for his newly attached cannon.  Ernst still didn't care much for the massive pile of steel, with all of it's wheels and spokes that cluttered the curved deck.  The lighter guns were gone, and they had been outfitted with depth charge rails in France, though no depth charges were available. It all seemed rather silly to Otto, but who was he to complain? With the death of Hitler at the hands of his own generals, the war had taken another serious bend, but at least they weren't being led by a madman who insisted that the "martians" were going to attack the fatherland!
