Yeesh, why not 1:72. It wouldn't have been that much more plastic...
All hail 1:72!

Because as stated it was ordered by an airline and 1/100 desktop collector models are fairly common, 1/72 is not a common
scale for those models.

New Bf-109 G-6 from Tamiya.

The usual moaning, of course.  :banghead:

It looks really good, and not unexpected following their release of the Ki-61 last year that
came with a representation of a DB engine. It comes with interchangeable open and closed
cowlings, I believe their first use on a 1/48th aircraft of the mini-magnets used on their
1/32 kits.

I won't get one, never a fan of the type, but it bodes well for their 1/48 line.

Wrong scale, wrong air force.  Do we *really* need yet another sodding 109G6?

Normally I'd agree with you Lee, but a new Tamiya tooling ? I'll make an exception even if it isn't my scale  Sales of this might pay for something I will buy, that's the way I look at it.

And just for Kit.  ;D

My response is similar to Lee's, I'd get one just to stick pins in it, hoping they'd reach all the way through to the 1/20 Mr. Vettel!

I wish that Tamiya had never started on the 1/20 scale car stuff, it makes it difficult to display alongside the 'standard' 1/24-25 models.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Agree with you mate. I like their 1/48 armour

Weaver

The design of the Churchill kit's running gear is interesting: it looks like they've gone for ease of assembly, moulding all the wheels and suspension bits in one piece with the side panels. That'll look like blessed relief to anyone who's struggled with the Airfix 1/76th Churchill which has every tiny bogie moulded in three pieces...

Weaver its a thing of beauty to those of us who've made a 1:35 one   <_<    its tricky at big.  and with the set length plastic track ( not link and length or rubber band) it is certainly the easiest / most sensible.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Tamiya has published it's 2023 catalogue, but it's in Japanese. There's a video of it on YouTube.
