Actually, those guys are some serious mall power walkers and have to be ready to do laps at any given opportunity. ;)

A little progress in solving the landing gear mod. Plus the exhaust looks cool when held under a lamp. :P  B)

I was hoping to put together a two Sidewinders, 2 Sparrows and two Phoenix. I think i can get all of that to fit. I have the Sparrows, and maybe the sidewinders, but no Phoenix. I'll have to make custom pylons and rails.. B)

Because of a very generous gift from Jeffry Fontaine (4 Phoenix missiles), I can make this a truly BVR inteceptor. I'm going to Austin tonight to listen to some very loud rock n roll and while I'm there, I hope to find that perfect shade of .........wait for it..........gray   The decal I have are the more modern design that I think will work best with a lite grey. Next is making pylons for the load out. :)

Just  a thought but as this is a carrier version would it still have the double bogies? My understanding is that they were for rough/unprepared runways, which presumebly carriers  don't have.

True, but they will allow for land operation from semi-prepared strips if necessary and they do spread out the load on the deck from the aircraft's weight.  Besides, a carrier landing imposes equally high loadings on the gear.

That a good observation. :) I went with what I know about carrier flt ops from my experiences. I figure that this aircraft would have a fast approach (like the Viggie), which makes for a hard landing. I used the Hornet elements because of it's nature upon touch down to unload and push the aft end up before coming to a stop with the arresting gear. Watch a Hornet carrier landing and you'll see what I'm talking about. :)I think the real reason I did it was I thought it looks cool. B)  Plus, I want to keep this a much of a T(omcat)SR-2 as possible. ;)    I found the color and the lucky one is.........Testors, dark aircraft gray.

The primer is on to bring out any glaring imperfections. I used the corneres of some plastic baggies to shield the gear from overspray.
