BTW for those who model in 1/48th Mike West of Lonestar Models is preparing an XB-42 in the larger scale for release this year.

I most like the idea of a OnMark B-42K Counter-Mixmaster in SE Asia colours, wing tip tanks and pylons toting everything short of the kitchen sink. Put it in the colors of the Air Commando Squadrons of the USAF during that time period- at the time, B-26Ks were based at RTAFB Nakhon Phanom (known as "Naked Fanny" to USAF crews) and the name of the planes were changed to A-26Ks since the Thai government at the time didn't allow bombers based on its soil (which of course changed by the time of Linebacker). So you could have yourself an A-42K........

They were redesignated A-26A, not A-26K.

This was exactly what I was thinking about...!!!!!! I saw a B-26K model on a magazine one day and it was quite impressive! In fact we can imagine two kind of B-42 in vietnam
- B-42K
- B-42 COIN (with turboprop)

I also dream about an old B-42 of the Guatemela or San Salvador air force, rusty, with a devastated paint sheme  but still flying counter-insurgency missions at the end of the 70's... a nice diorama idea, no?
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

While suggesting a WHIF idea for the Do-335 Pfeil involving counter-rotating propellers and putting both engines behind the pilot I was surprised by the response that came back with a drawing of that very aircraft.  The only real difference was that the drawing depicted a two seat aircraft with side by side seating arrangement instead of a single seat as I had imagined.  So upon viewing the drawing, I could not help but notice the resemblance to the B-42 which got me to thinking about another idea involving the B-42.  This time it would be a scale-o-rama to scale up a 1/72nd scale B-42 to a 1/48th scale single seat aircraft with counter-rotating propellers.  The same could probably be done with the B-43 to create a jet version.  Might be an ideal WHIF attack aircraft for close air support or interdiction mission.

The one thing I don't like about the XB-42 is the aft propellers in an era where ejection seats weren't common...
That being said, I'd like to remind everybody in a manner reminiscent of the SNL bit on Julian Assange, that no matter how I die: It was murder (even if there was a suicide note or a video of me peacefully dying in my sleep); should I be framed for a criminal offense or disappear, you know to blame.
