Just love this thread!!! Gorgeous profiles, and so much imagination...
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

F-14G Tomcat-Turkey

Another customer for German built Tomcats was Turkey. Here is one shown with a typical air to ground of AGM-88C HARMs,AGM-154A JSOWs and AIM-132 ASRAAMs.

now could you do a norwegiean one please?

Shasper

Not to be picky ( I'm eatin this stuff up like wheaties! ;) ), But I did notice that these profiles are based on the XF-14A, you can tell because the wing fences are larger than on the production models.

Still eatin this stuff though!

As far as the wing fences goes,I'd thought of that myself.I'm thinking maybe squaring them off a bit, maybe for chaff and flare dispensers, like the overwing ones on the Mig-29 and Su-24.

F-14A Tomcat-Russia

Ever wonder what happened to at least a few of Iran's Tomcats after the Islamic Revolution? Russia,by agreeing it'd help maintain the cats after it'd inspected them, got a few for evaluation. The Russians left them in the desert camo for the most part and just added red stars, but a couple got repainted, much like the USAF Mig-21.This example is shown wearing the colors of the Russian navy, which was interested in the Tomcat, both in finding out its capabilitys and for possible use on their new "Kremlin" Class CVNs.The Russians were very impressed with the F-14s and soon were putting it through tests against the latest fighters and bombers. One area the Tomcat came up short was the engines. The TF-30s lasted longer then the standard russian engine, but was more prone to stalling. The anwser was a hybrid engine, combining the best of both the AL31F turbofan and the TF-30.Russian weapons were also tested out on the Tomcat, including the AA-9 Amos,AA-10 Alamo and the new AA-11 Archer and AA-12 Adder. The PVO was so impressed by the hybrid Tomcat, that they wanted some made to replace the Mig-25 to counter  American bombers. The Tomcat had a better look down-shoot down radar then the Foxbat and would be better able to deal with the low flying B-1B,B-52H,FB-111A and Tornados. The PVO decided to cancel the Mig-31 Foxhound,in exchange for getting a fighter that could carry the longe range AA-9 and dogfight,if needed.

F-14N Tomcat-Norway

The F-14N was the export model designed for Norway. As such,it differed from the standard F-14E in having better wheel brakes to deal with icy runways, and AGM-119 Penguin capability.Kinda drunk,so I'll keep the back story to this and pick it up on the next one.

Check acig.org for the new Iranian F-14 color scheme: they say about half of Iran's 57 Tomcats have gotten the paint job as part of their depot-level maintenance, with the rest due to get it as they cycle through.

G-man these are some pretty schemes!

Lets see one in JASDF "blue" like the F-2A/B!!!

Can you give details/pics/link to exact post?

It's in the forum section: there's a section dealing with Iranian aerospace issues:

http://www.acig.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=37

There's threads on Iranian F-4s, F-5s, F-14s, Su-24s, and other types flown by the
IRIAF. And the RevGuard too: they fly Iran's Su-25s and a number of helos.
