Due to the increasing incursions into Pakistan's airspace by night time reconnance aircraft of the Indian Airforce, Pakistan orders 25 SU-27's. The Russians aren't able to deliver with the same urgency as the request askes for, as their surplus SU-27's have to be converted to export varients. However, there are a dozen SU-21's that were just reconditioned and awaiting paint. The government of Packistan at first doesn't want these but when touring the Sukoi plant, one of the SU-21 has the distinctive green and white roundels painted on. The SU-21's are a stopgap  measure until the 27's are readied.

In other news, India confirmed today an order for 20 Mig-31 reconnance aircraft. Untill the order is delivered, the Indian government will be using older Mig-25 with the same FLIR night time recon pods.

This was another experiment in NMF for me, and the markings with the Poineer kit weren't that great.

Since Pakistan is very good at using western technology on their other aircraft of Chinese/Russian origin, why not rig it with some AMRAAM?  That would put a quick end to those pesky IAF incursions into Pakistan air space.

Thanx guys.

Several coats of Krylon primer and Mr Surfacer to get the dimples and slight texture even. There is a texture on the plastic such that once you sand a seam it simply doesn't match, so you have to sand the whole thing gently a lot and buff.

Then a coat of Krylon bright aluminum actually several coats untill I was satisfied with the evenness of the finish. The taped the sucker up along panel lines and such, and used post it's to cover some areas and began free mixing testors metalizers. By that I mean I had 4 bottles open, gun metal, bright chrome, graphite and another one and simply mixed it up and tossed it int eh airbrush with a paint brush. The back end where the heat is started as a coat of jet exhaust, but it didn't look right. So I sprayed successive layers of crappy dark and light to give it that heat turned uneven look, then a final light dusting of chrome.

But a few screw ups. The Pioneer Flagon, the tails come as seperate sections and I shoul dhave glued the vert stab after. I have a terrible tape line anong the root. Plus the post-its, some lifted.

I'm kinda happy. No weapons on here though. I don't do weapons on my airplanes unless it's really important or part of a story/gag.

Brilliant job Gary. That PM kit isn't too bad is it? Did mine as a bog standard Russian job but all over NMF. You're right about the PM Transfers though they sorta explode on contact with water

Ok dunno how many flame wars I'm gonna start here but it kinda looks like an Avro Arrow to me.

Don't worry.  I've been planning to kitbash my PM Su-21 (fictitious designation, BTW) with my Hobbycrap CF-105, into a totally fictitious Polikarpov interceptor.  I figure I can get a decent-looking model out of two crappy kits.  Maybe.

Nice finish Gary. I'm terrified of NMF myself
