QuoteAs far as I'm aware, the PR16 didn't have a bulged bay in any case.   It was basically a PRIX with more powerful engines and a pressurised cabin.  The B16 came with it as standard to enable the aircraft to carry the 4,000lb bomb

My mistake - wrong variant.  Nevertheless I'm sure I read somewhere that the PR34s bomb bay was more bulged than other variants.  I've always meant to ask Neil of Paragon.  I have the Modellers Datafile and couldn't find any reference to this in it.

QuoteAnother Halo? Wow

99% certain it will be the Zvezda kit reboxed.  They've done that before - looks to be a higher price than the Zvezda boxing though....

Has anyone looked at or built the 1/48th A-20G/J Havoc? I am looking to do a VVS one- yes I know the Italeri one has the decals in it.

I wonder who's this is ? MPM ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Rad probably has

The Revell 1/48th A-20G is a beauty....originally released by AMT then Italeri.

It goes together really well except that you'll need to apply filler to the nose join which isn't really a problem.
Most reviews mention moving the main u/c about 2mm forward but I never have and it looks OK to me.
Nice mouldings, good detail....if you fit the cockpit top panel "up" you'll need to add a rescue raft    easy....wrap tissue paper in strips of masking tape and white-glue the lot. Check on the web for various builds...you'll see what I mean.
Remember to add lots of weight to the nose as well.

I'm building a number of A-20s for a display at RAF Molesworth next June 6th:

Australian A-20C
RAF Boston IIIa...in the "controversial" Ocean Grey/Dark Green uppers
A-20G USAAF with suspiciously inauthentic nose art.

Cheers I picked one up today, it will be a Russian real life build; and they have a series of articles on the Havoc/Boston in the VVS and AVMF in MAM as well.

Did I see something about the 1/48 Catalina coming out again ?

That Monogram PBY is a great kit, but the wingspan is ENORMOUS!!!!

Agreed but, like Nev says that wingspan is just colossal. It's the only thing that ever stopped me building one.

visiting my LHS this afternoon, the shopkeeper told me he got an E-mail from revell.

a few months ago i posted a topic about this with the planned price increase.
apparently as of February 2009 revell is going to raise its prices even higher.
it is not yet know how much and witch kits will be affected, but one thing is known, it doesnt look good for us modellers :(

i will post more once i know more

That would be a real shame as Revell has been the best value for the money, at least in smaller scales. Hopefully they'll be smart enough to realize the profitable niche the occupy and won't kill the goose that's laying the golden eggs.

Cool stuff!  The Supa Hornet is indeed a new tool!  :o  As much as I like the Rhino, I think a scale-down of the Strike Eagle would have been a better choice. With the recommended retail price it isn't even much cheaper than the Hase Rhino. Or a scale-down of the Rafales.... :banghead:
