Yup, the FGA.9 didn't make it into the 2010 catalogue. Too bad Hannants is offering them at the usual price, though. I don't know how it will be with the Hunter, but I think the UK department or hobby stores had the same discount offers of the 1/72 MiG-31 and 1/48 F-105G (for example) when Revell discontinued them last year. Many department stores in Germany shell them out at 7 or 8 EUR (instead of 12 EUR). I had the good fortune to find them at 4.99 EUR, so I got a couple...

Revell have discontinued the 1:72 Hawker Hunter Mk.9, which will doubtless have many crying into their beer/bear/beard/whatever.

On every modelshow I've been for the past few years, all traders were up to their elbows in Hunters, so I doubt there'll be a shortage soon.

Might just have to pick one up, I've got the F.6, you can never have enough Hunters! :drink:
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

For some reason they are not popular at work and we always seem to have some sitting on the shelves.
Everything looks better with the addition of British Roundels!

^ Oh, yeah, forgot to say: Talked to a Revell representative at some model exhibition earlier this year and he said they were pretty disappointed with the sales figures of the 1/72 Hunters. Too bad. I hope that won't discourage them from releasing other "classic" jets, but I'm not exactly holding my breath.

I keep looking at Revell hunters, and I um and are about whether to put one in the stash or not. Thing is I can't get them to fit in with any of my build themes, otherwise, there would be a few in my stash.
But obviously not quite as many as chernayakula....of course

^ Why, yes. A bit. How'd you guess?  ;D

RAF, Kenya, Rhodesia (two), Zimbabwe, Jordan, Iraq, Oman, Singapore, Chile, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia for real world builds. Then there are several cool whifs, such as South Africa, Israel, RAF in SEAC colours,.... Crikey, I think I need more Hunters!

My local MZ has loads of Hunters on the shelves - more then me  :banghead:

Which is bizarre when its a brilliant kit of an iconic subject, at a superb price!  Maybe its because it doesn't appeal to the non-enthusiast part of the market?  Its not WW2 and its not current

<...>  Ah good, you've included SAAF in that list, for a moment there I thought me and thee would have to have words.... :dalek: :tank: <...>

Nah, no need. Lots of South African stuff (both real world and whif) in the to-do-list.

I guess that's what it boils down to.

I finally managed to track down the new(ish) Duo Discus sailplane I mentioned earlier.

In 1/32 it's HUGE, about 20" wing span and just as awesome as the real thing. For some reason it has parts for the retractable 'booster engine' hatch behind the wing, but no engine to hide away in there, odd. I'd like to think that someone will do a resin add-on for that, but it's well off the main track so I expect it won't happen.

Needless to say mine is going to done as the RW HB1 from Husband's Bosworth that I flew a few years back.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Anybody know when Revell might release their 787? It should have been 4th quarter 2009

ChernayaAkula

^ As far as I know, it was officially cancelled only recently (no longer appears on their website either). Someone over on ARC (who appears to have some kind of insider knowledge when it comes to Revell) said they may pick it up again when the actual aircraft flies. For the moment, that leaves you with the Zvezda kit, which I hear is rather nice.
