A 1/32 scale He-111P?  :o

Strewth, where's my big Revell Spitfire kit, I feel the biggest Dogfight Double in the world coming on!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Interesting list not overly ambitious, although Rob Mmnfae will be chuffed with the new Hawk T1 in 1//32nd scale.

The one i really have an eye on is the 1/350th USS Wasp as i this is the MRC kit of the Assault Ship that retails at well over $200 in the US !!! - Wonder if Revells pricing policy has this under the £100 mark or not as i suspect sales will be slim if over.

This is the original kit and its listed at $249 !!!!!

Oh great a 1/32 He-111 and an Arado Ar196A, I'd better get saving

Probably.  The Heller one went to Argentina (?) when Encore boxed it.  The Frog one disappeared east after Novo got it and the Airfix one should be melted down for scrap.

Still, the Matchbox one is a nice kit and at a third the price of the Pavla one, Revell should make a tidy penny if they price it right.

Ooooh, 1/32 Hawk!!

Given the small size, Revell's generous pricing (I predict £30 for it) and the squillions of colourful options for both RAF and export, that should sell really well.  I'm certainly in for 1, maybe 2.

Will be interesting to see if they tool it to allow a Hawk 100/200

They'll sell a lot in the US if they add some bits to create a T-45.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

1/60th classic Cutlass: could be scaleorama fodder if the price is right.

Speaking of which, Model Hobbies are flogging the 1/185th classic B-47 for £4.00 at the moment. It might be an old relic (moulded on roundels.....) but it's whiff fodder if only for the engine pods:

The Fury is Matchbox and is a beauty, and the Matchbox Gladiator (in fact all their biplanes) were very good. There are lots of Gladiator REAL WORLD possibilities, as well as limitless What If potential....

The 1/32nd stuff leaves me cold I'm afraid....

Not quite sure why they're doing Bismarck and Tirpitz - there are several kits available already. Seems like a wasted opportunity to do something a bit more interesting ship-wise.

I don't do anything other than 1:72 for aircraft, as a rule, but a Hawk in 1:32 is very tempting. It'll still be quite small, and as Nev said, there's lots of potential for real-world and whiff markings.

<...> May buy one of the 1/144 Eurofighter Typhoons but only if it is a new tooled kit, <...>

For whatever it's worth, both IPMS Deutschland and modellversium report it is a new tooling. Hope it will be a weapons kit with a plane thrown in for good measure like the 1/72 kit.  ;D I echo Nils' hope for a twin-seater. Looking at how long it took for the Hornet and Starfighter to come out with the single- or twin-seater (not to speak about the lack of the Rafale twin-seater  :banghead:), it may be some time before we see one, though.

Sales. That's all there's to it. Revell's biggest market is the home market here in Germany. And the number of kits sold in department stores probably highly outweigh sales in model shops, mostly to people who don't know what Trumpeter or Tamiya are. They'll know about the Bismarck or Tirpitz from documentaries on the telly and may pick up a kit from the supermarket on impulse.
Wish someone would come out with a couple new Rodneys or Nelsons in 1/350 or 1/700, though. Currently, my money would be on Trumpeter.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Like Moritz said, home market and the fact that those 2 ships are the 109s and P-51s of ship modelling.  *Everyone* has to have one in their catalogue.

I might actually do a Bismark/Tirpitz, but as a spaceship.
Meanwhile, although the idea of a 1/32nd Hawk doesn't appeal, I HAVE thought of something I could do with it which'd make an interesting model, and with Revell's high quality of production......mmmmmmmm.
