They also have pics of the parts for the new 1/144 Eurofighter Typhoon on ipmsdeutschland ( http://ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/Revell/Preview_Rev_Eurofighter_Typhoon_144/Preview_Rev_04282_TS_Eurofighter_144.html ). So the "extensive range of weapons" mentioned on Revells homepage is not-a-pound-for-air-to-ground.. And no ASRAAM..Would have been nice with the same loadout as their 1/48 ET with Storm Shadow/Taurus KEPD.... :banghead: Didn't see the PIRATE either (might be there tough, probably just a very small part)...Can't wait to see how the Pit-Road version comes out, just wondering if they might be the same one...And Pit-Roads BAC TSR-2!! ;D ;D

Saw the Wasp at my local hobby shop today. The thing is rather heavy for a model kit, but I only almost fell over upon seeing the price. A whoppin' 168 EUR (and they're usually below Revell's MSRP).  :o

Haven't 1:350 aircraft carriers always been very expensive ?

As an example, when the Trumpeter 1:350 Hood came out, it was about £50-£60. It's now pushing the £100 mark. And Hasegawa released a kit recently (a Japanese seaplane tender I think) that they're asking £430 for!

Buy the Airfix Lusty instead! ;D  Should be somewhere around 50 euros.   Really, with the Illustrious only slightly smaller than Wasp & but less than a third of the price, punters are going to vote with their feet.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Just 150ft shorter and half the weight but with the price of the Lusty you could buy her and the WEM PE set and you'd still have money left for more aircraft  ;D

I agree that some prices have gotten pretty far out there.

Some points on the Hasegawa kit however:

They only made 500.
You had to live in Japan to order one, and then, only directly from Hasegawa.
The hull is solid resin.
It comes with extensive white metal and brass photo-etch.

I'm not saying this justifies the price, but limited run, 1/350, full hull resin?  It starts looking a lot more plausible.  Heck, just go look at anything from Games Workshop's resin shop; Forge World, and the Hasegawa kit will seem like an outright steal.

Or about 13cm in 1/350, or to put it another way, not £125 quids worth of polystyrene! ;)

NEWS FLASH!
When the first test shot pics of Revell's forthcoming 1/144 Eurofighter Typhoon surfaced on ipmsdeutschland.de, it quickly became obvious that Revell forgot the ASRAAM missiles used by the RAF Typhoons. Well, either we (especially I ) were too fast and Revell had sent out a rather early test shot or they really forgot them and now realized their omission, but according to the REVISED KIT INFO on their homepage, the kit will include two ASRAAMs for the RAF version. The parts count is given as 63, which is also the number of parts on the TEST SHOT SPRUES that didn't have ASRAAMs.

There are two AIM-9L Sidewinders on the sprue shots but they don't appear on the revised kit info, so my guess is they've been replaced by the ASRAAMs.

Then again, they list the ASRAAMs twice. I'm thoroughly confused. I saw the test shots at a model expo today, but they appeared to be those previewed by IPMS Deutschland. The built model looks very nice, though. Didn't talk to the representative as he was talking to someone else and I was in a hurry.
They had a couple of pics of the CAD drawings of the 1/72 B-17G which looked pretty impressive.

Now here's interesting: Revell have re-released the Jacques Cousteau Calypso kit, BUT there's no mention of JC, none of the JC foundation decals, and it's just described as an "exploration ship". Obviously didn't get the licence this time around....

Yeah, I read something recently about them licensing it from one of his granddaughters?  (I think, don't quote me) and then finding out she didn't have the actual rights to the name.

Modelstories has posted sprue pics of the He219 and confirms that it is the old dodgy Frog kit. http://kitbox.free.fr/ouvreboite/OB1005_P/index.html
Must be trying to wring out a last bit of cash from it (not sure if they ever released this before?).  Their own mould is a lot nicer, maybe they're trying for a noastalgia kick! At £8.50 it's pretty pricey for what you get. Thinking of sci fi whiffing my Froggy one.
