I'm assuming the Duke of York is the matchbox kit?

NARSES2

I didn't buy it (might still sucumb) as it's not my scale but local MZ had the new 1/32 Arado 196 in stock. Looks very nice, BUT the staggering thing is the price ................£19.99

Well done Mr Revell

That's staggering in the right direction. Trumpeter and all Czech moulders take note!

Can't remember where I read it but I'm sure it said that Revell are doing a 1/48th Do215 Nightfighter, anyone seen this or am I going nuts? Been trying to find it again for a couple of days now!

On the bench.
1/72 Space 1999 Eagle, Comet Miniatures Martian War Machine
1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

A 217 nightfighter would make more sense, given their available Do 217 mould in 48th.

That's what I thought too Lee but it definitely said a 215 (got earlier Do217 in the stash). Maybe it a typo. And I still can't find the site where I saw it! It had the Qatari/RAF C-17 and 1/48th Tigermeet F-104 listed too.

Isn't the Do 215 just an engine change from the Do 217? I'm sure Revell would think that small beer almost.

No, the Do 215 was an export version of the Do 17Z with DB601s.  None reached export due to the outbreak of war and an embargo being placed by the RLM.  Consequently, they all served with the Luftwaffe

Radish

Various discount stores have the Arado at £17.99....

their 1/32nd Hawk will also come in at under £20.
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Mmmmmm....I might be tempted by a Hawk 100 or similar variant with the bumpy nose.....looks quite aggressive with the wingtip rails..extra stores.....at under £20......I'd get one....!!!!!!

I rarely buy 1/32nd kits but at those prices I might well get the Arado and Hawk but I'll have to wait for the armed kit rather than the Arrows one.
Matt Roberts on Britmodeller reminded me where I saw the 1/48th D-215B-5 Nightfighter listed (kit no.04671). Model Airplane International's new 2011 kits list! http://www.modelairplaneinternational.com/  Some think it is a typo but I've not seen confirmation either way yet.

Thanks to Matt for jogging the memory, it was driving me nuts trying to find where I'd read it!
