 ANOTHER F-16????? Instant yawn factor!!!

Still, it's nice to see the older kits again - especially the Honest John. I'm almost of similar vintage to some of them!! ;D

Many of the old rocket/missile kits in particular are being offerred at criminal proces on evilbay. I got a lot of satisfaction in buying the Chrysler - Redstone missile recently for a reasonable £9.69 .Compare that to the £264 (buy it now) on one ebay auction! :o

Now, if they'd only do the Nike Ajax, Mace, Regulus, Talos...........................!!!! ;D

Personally, I think there's a lot of fun to be had with these old kits. I don't personally bother with accuracy or, even go looking for faults. I'll do the best I can with what comes out of the box!! None of these exorbitantly priced after market resin extras here ( well, not many!! ;D)
Latest golden oldies to arrive here - a pair of Lindberg XF-88 kits. Both will appear here (eventually!!)
Loves JMNs but could never eat a whole one!!

I'd actually like to see them issue the various missiles to a common scale - 1/72.

Wouldn't we all, but that would cost them SERIOUS money!

While they already have the research done, cutting new moulds would be expensive and it's a very fringe market too.

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You never know, they might find that the market exists already.

I know its never going to happen.  Missiles have never been a big seller but it'd be nice to see all of them lined up on their launchers.

I know there is a 1/144 scale collection of missiles set but I'd rather see them in 1/72.

Along with some British ones - Blue Water, Blue Steel, etc.

<...>

Not "yawn" at all! More "yay"!
Their 1/72 F-16C Block50/52 is still the best one out there and hasn't been available for quite some time. So this is a very welcome re-release.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

RoG have released the Ozelot.  A light SPAA system based on their Wiesel.  Looks like a corker.

And it's not based on the AFV molds. It also doesn't look as sharp as the AFV kit, but that may just be the pictures. One thing it has in common with the AFV kit are the vinyl tracks, which are awful on the AFV kit.

Now we want a twin-pack of that in 1/72nd: one missile vehicle and one radar vehicle (seen in the background of the box art).

Anyway, turns out it's MUCH smaller than a 1/72nd Canberra and almost exactly the same size as a 1/72nd CF-100, which leads to all sorts of evilly confusing thoughts......

Yup, thought of some already!
And C'mon Revell, get more of the Matchbox stuff out - Tempest and Wellesley for a start!

Forget it lads - go back a few posts to where I reported the conversation a trader had with Revell. Apparently they're not going to release any more ex-Matchbox kits unless the moulds are up to modern standards (which means almost none then). They are not averse to the idea of selling them to someone else though, IF they can get them back from all over the world.

The Wooksta!

SO how does that with them rereleasing all their own toolings that are older still, the truly awful kits that time forgot, such as the Bf 109E or the Tempest V, just two of which older than the Matchbox tools that they own?

Have to agree with Lee there.  Some of the kits that Revell keeps on re-releasing are woeful even compared to Matchbox versions.  (Although I actually don't mind the MB kits).

Anyhoo, a better (not New) release by RoG is the Spz 2 Luchs.  Looks like a nice, big kit.

<shrug> Ask them. Given the unquestionable demand for some of the Matchbox tools from experienced modellers who know exactly what they're like, it seems crazy to me.
