I'm not at liberty to say, but it's not a B-17.  It's even dumber than that...

And just to allay some speculation - the Lanc was done (using CAD) by someone who has never done any kit design work for Revell before.  He's done other stuff you've seen and liked, but nothing for Revell.  He's very fastidious, and quite good at what he does though.

Nahhh It'll be another FW190-whatever.

F-16?

Meanwhile...the Lanc looks good from what we can see.
Gorra be better than the Hasegawa one.

Do you know that in 45+ years of modelling I've NEVER made a Lancaster model?
I have two Airfix ones "in the stash" though, so intend to start one day

The Mustang or Warhawk.

Not quite as many years under my belt as you Terry ;) but I've never built a Lanc either - not even got one in my stash.  I find WW2 bomber command ones all a bit meh.  They're like grey F-16s, Malibu Stacey's with 4 Merlins.

I quite like the post war variants though - just not sure if I want to pay £30+ for a Hasegawa boxing......

In fact, just a straight Lancaster (without many mods) in as Wooksta suggests, a different camo finish will be good.
For my two Airfix kits (love-'em)....

Full Desert colours of Sand/Dark Earth with Azure Blue underneath and Egyptian markings :ill:

Hmmm, yeah, I guess wartime Lancs & the other British heavy bombers were rarely seen in anything other than dk green/dk earth over night so most schemes are pretty much a whiff, although American made bombers in the RAF could be seen in all sorts.  Since I got hold of BSP Fighters & Bombers I've thought about the Avro 684 Stratosphere bomber with PRU blue fuselage, possibly overall or even PRU blue topsides with night undersides (seen this on a Mossie profile).  Maybe even do it to a Hasegawa kit just to piss of the numpties!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Nope.  Even dumber than any of those, given the available kits that it will be head-to-head against.

QuoteHopefully a decent Spitfire - Revell have yet to release one.
No, that would be smart.  This is dumb.

So its got to be something that's already well served in IM form - 1/72 I presume?

Mosquito?

I dunno, but the thing you have to remember, whatever it is, is that Revell are extremely common on model shop shelves in this country (and across Europe as well) I assume.  When Airfix went under, they got to increase their share of the shelves even more.  In *A LOT* of model shops over here the only manufacturers you see are RoG, with a bit of Airfix and Italeri.

Oh and RoG kits are CHEAP with a capital C.H.E.A.P.

So yeah, maybe Tamigawa or whoever might have a detailed, accurate (and more expensive) kit out there already, but how many punters in Revells home market would be able to get hold of one? (without recourse to internet mail order).

Me 262?  Could be either 1/48 or 1/32, they'd be up against the Tamiya & Dragon, or Trumpeter & Hasegawa kits.  1/48 would fill a gap & 1/32 would replace their old offering.  Makes no sense from a modellers point of view unless it's cheaper (which it probably will be), but from a business sense they'll probably sell sh*t loads anyway if they can keep the quality they have with recent releases.

I'm guessing it's another Ju-88 in 1/72.  Or a Stuka.
