Quote from: The Wooksta! on October 26, 2024, 09:49:35 AMCan someone check with the Revell dudes at Telford to see if the Bv 222 due for release does indeed have the Jumo 205s as shown in the catalogue?  The breakdown of the older kit does allow for a new drop in front section with different engines.
Which is nice.

I've made a note Lee

Quote from: kerick on October 26, 2024, 12:35:42 PMI think it was the M59 which had two engines each one mounted over a track. Kind of weird way to do it.

Good way to maximise the useable volume though. Imagine doing it with a modern electric drivetrain.

The M75 had a common engine and running gear with the Walker Bulldog light tank, and ther was also an SPG based on the same parts. Most of them got given to Belgium when the US Army re-equipped.

IIRC the M59 steered by reving the engine on one side and cutting back the other. Each engine powered its corresponding track.

Right I've had a look at the old box art and the new version to double check I know what you mean. So at least I'll know what I'm talking about even if the guys behind the stand dont. Hopefully they'll have an example of the sprues on display.

Now that's a surprise.  Personally hope they scale it to 1/72, but a big T.7 is very welcome.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's what they did with their 1/32 Hunter, wasn't it?

I thought the 1/72 kit came first? Not sure either way.

Well if their methodology is similar to Airfix, then the fact that they now have the CAD data for the 1/32nd T.7 means that at least the bar is lowered for a 1/72nd one in the future since much of the work has already been done.

(Yes, I understand that it's not as easy as hitting the "scale" button due to minimum wall thicknesses etc..)

I'm still hoping Airfix will, one day, rescale their 1/48 Sea Fury to 1/72. Though I'm replete with them at the moment.
And Italeri their 1/35 Higgins PT boat. In fact, all their 1/35 Fast Attack Craft.

I'll keep dreaming. :-\

If I understand correctly, they are going to used the single seat moulds as the basis for the two seater? That being the case would it be prudent for anyone interested then to grab a couple of single seaters now before they become completely unobtainable? Of course, I might have understood INcorrrectly!

Their 1/32 scale Meteor sprues looked good as well (burn him, burn him  )
