Yep, that'a a really lovely kit -  got a couple in the stash. It would also be nice if Revell did some of the later model 21's as well, a decent PF, MF, BiS for example

I know there are some 'issues' with some of the Fujimi boxings of the very late versions (the Bis especially), but the MF's & PF's are really very good - I've built three or four and never had a problem.

Hannants have just got this kit of the Do-27 in:

Always liked this aircraft - just a pity it's in such a large scale: I'd have bitten their hand off for a 1/72nd one.

They've also resurrected this little number. I assume it's the same one originally released in 1957..... :

And they had the first batch of their 1/32 Duo Discus sailplane at Telford too.

It's just gorgeous, but every one of the traders there had sold their allocation by 11 am! Off to LMS on Monday I think, specially as I've flown a Duo once, the Concorde of the sailplane world to my mind.

Eyed up the Revell 1/32 Typhoon at Telford.  Looks very good, and not enourmously big like some 1/32 subjects.

Decal sheet has 2 German options and 1 RAF (11 squadron) but no Italy, Spain, Austria or Saudi :(  Still, for 50 quid you can't complain too much.  Like most big kits it has a basic bang seat that could do with replacing or tarting up.

One model I did see made up in thier display was German destrpyer that looked bloody gorgeous. It looked like WW2 surplus as it was flying the Federal Tricolour. According to the rep it's been released, but I couldn't find it anywhere at the show.

Yeap its a revised issue of their 1/144 Fletcher class Destroyer used during the Cold War by the West German Navy as Z1.
Probably wasn't stocked due to the size of the box and the subject matter by the show traders.

Weave, Huma do a 1/72 Do.27.  It's pricey for it's tiny size & it lacks internal detail, but it's supposed to be a little gem.  Tried to order one through my LMS some time back, but they never did get back to me.  Would look good alongside the recentely re-released Revell Do.28 & Do.228 to show the evolution.  Just need a Do.28A to complete the family.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Kit, I picked one of these up a few weeks back at my LMS, must have been one of the first out.  Lovely kit, not many parts to it but still manages to be pretty well detailed.  If you want to go nuts with super detailing, you could add the pop up engine for the turbo variants, otherwise it's pretty much all there.  Mine has a few big sink marks, but otherwise looks good.

Whiffing it???  I haven't got a clue, I'll probably do mine oob, maybe get hold of their 1/32 Piper Super Cub too as a the universal glider tug.  Either that or bash it to within an inch of it's life,  take the wings off, put it on to it's tail & turn it into a 30's rocketship!!!

There's also a gorgeous OOB build of the Fletcher in this months Tamiya mag   Would love to get one and do it as USS Hoel.  Finances do not currently permit!

Mossie,

I'm on track to get one tomorrow, our local art shop stocks Revell would you believe, and they always have the latest stuff. :)

The trouble with all sailplane models is they look the same unless you REALLY know your stuff! I could build the Revell LS-8 and call it a DG-100 and I doubt anyone would notice. Having said that, the Duo's wing is so distinctive I doubt you could make it into anything else.

Perhaps get two of them, glue the wings of one onto the tips of the other and you'd have an ASH-222255555 perhaps?

Does anyone know why some boxes of the Revell Fletcher have a green background, and some have blue?  I thought the green was replaced with blue a number of years ago?

My LHS has the green box, and its only £40 to boot! (Hannants £60!)  Just wanna check its the same kit (it certainly has the same code on the box).

The re-released Buckeye is obviously selling well: Pavla are now doing a cockpit detailing set for it:

Revell have discontinued the 1:72 Hawker Hunter Mk.9, which will doubtless have many crying into their beer/bear/beard/whatever. hannants have bought all the remaining stock: get 'em while you can.....
