Maybe Revell see Airfix as the main competitor in the UK and priced the Ju88 only a little more than the Airfix kit (which is £7.99)?

Good news about the Halifax but the Vampire looks odd - it's listed as an F.1 but Heller never did an F1.  I suspect that we may actually get the Mistral as the Vampire was last used by Airfix and they may still have the Heller toolings.

Some years ago Revell released the Heller Vampire FB5 as an FB5.  I recall the box art being odd to say the least - an FB5 (might have been an FB3 actually) in the late-WW2/immediate post-war scheme worn by early F1s! Mad!!
So is it a typo?  I'd say yes, but an injection F1 would be great - especially at a fraction of the Marivox version (which was the Heller Vampire plus conversion parts).
Don't see it being the Mistral, but that would offer up some excellent (and very subtle) RAF whiffing opportunities.

The flip-side to this is the 1:24/25 car kits they produce. So many of them are thirty or forty year old Monogram kits sometimes - but not always, with a few 'extras' added. I'm fairly certain that if I wandered over to the USA, I could still get the originals in Walmart or any other supermarket or hobby shop for around $10.00, here they're charging £23 to £25.00 for some of them !! - seems to me that there just isn't any consistancy across the catalogue in the pricing policy.

Ian

Most of the car kits now go for $20-25.  Walmart doesn't carry plastic anymore but K-Mart still has a few.  While still a lot cheaper than your cost, still high.  The 72nd Hunter kit retails for $20 here also. While the new Star Wars kits go up to $35.

The Arado 196 is now £25....or cheaper no doubt at discount places. Still a bargain.

Did you happen to see any pics of the Star Trek kits they announced in the catalogue DM, if so are they from the original series?

The only Star Trek picture i can say i remember is a Klingon D7, looks like the series one to me, very smooth looking.

Talking to the rep and he says that the UK is no2 in Revell markets now and we should expect to see more kits with the UK in mind and he confirmed that the Halifax is a brand new mould .

Thanks DarkMaster, looks like I'll be happy with the Trek kits! Glad we're high on Revell's market list, I know I buy a lot of Revell kits. If they're doing more kits for us in the UK maybe a new Stirling isn't just wishful thinking!

Edit:- forgot to mention Modellversium has a testshot build of the 32nd scale Hawk. http://www.modellversium.de/galerie/8-flugzeuge-modern/8702-bae-hawk-t1-revell.html

A blackcab would be a nice partner, probably an FX4?  I would be surprised if Revell haven't at least thought about it.  Whiff possibilities for both!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Bit of gossip from Bolton:

According to one of the traders, Revell have decided that they will NOT be re-releasing any more of the old Matchbox kits unless they are deemed as being up to current industry standards. Apparently a small manufacturer has approached them about buying the moulds, and been told something like "possibly, if we can find them". It seems that they're not all in a warehouse in Germany: some are scattered across the globe... :banghead:
