Or the ground crew in explaining the Flight Crew .

Still i had a look at mine yesterday and very impressed, its a big bugger but i'm glad Revell did it as its rather tasty and should look impressive on any model display. I wonder how some the crew on here will make use of those spare propellors ?

if i can find a big enough aircraft, i can use them, otherwise i think  they would look great on a C-130 or even a C-160
that is if revell can provide the kit with extra spinners  ;D

I think that Steve was actually pointing out the typo.

Revell appear to have missed a few letters off the words ''Cockpit section''. ;D

Ya know I just noticed it, thanks to Nils' demotivational poster.

I have been looking at the new Revell Halifax against a set of plans I have. So far I can say that it looks like a Halifax so no problem in General shape, However as mentioned in another thread that all the props have the wrong profile and could do with being replaced, three and four bladed types. The radiator intakes look to be too wide and the profile of the top of the engine cowlings looks a bit off with the carburetor intakes on top of the inner engines being too shallow. Other than that I am very happy with the kit indeed. The breakdown of the parts means that the kit could easily be released with radial engines to make a Mk III and similar engined versions. Only thing that I would have liked to see was the Z nose. A magazine review pointed out that the decals provided and the instructions don't match up. But then as modellers and with all the after marked sources for generic decals there should be no problem in coming up with what anyone needs for their build.
By the time I get around to building my kit all the necessary replacement parts will probably be readily available anyway so I for one am not going to worry about a few items that are not quite right, the propellers though are another matter.
The glazing looks nice, side windows are provided for an early Mk1 along with recesses in the fuselage halves for them. Extra nose and mid-upper turret glazing is provided as well, no idea why as neither was interchangeable with the other.

Cant think of anything else to say about the kit without taking parts off the trees and holding them together. Overall it looks the part and could be the basis of a fantastic build with all the nice interior. I will probably buy and build several if someone brings out replacement intakes and propellers.

The Wooksta!

You can source replacement props from Aeroclub.  I *think*.  If you're signed up on Britmodeller, send him a PM - he's a member there as John Aero.

The engines - I think at least one dude on BM is going to tart up and mould the ones from the old Matchbox kit.

H2S radome - use one from the Airfix kit.

Is it truly a 'new' kit or a re-pop of the Matchbox one?

Who's to say that the plans that some people use to compare kits too are accurate to start with, I can think of at least two lots of drawings of the Bluewater missile that are wrong when you actually put the full size dimensions to them.

Exactly what I was thinking Aircav. What I wrote was my initial view of the kit relying mostly on memory and one set of drawings from the old Aerodata International No7 which was first published in 1979. I am hopeing that the Warpaint book will provide more pictures to use as refference as well as background information to help me decide which version to build from the kit.

Revell's 2012 list from IPMS Deutschland. Includes a new tool 1/32nd EC135 chopper to replace the old tool that was getting very thick flash in quite a few areas.
This list says the 1/72nd Harrier GR.7 is a co-op with MPM but another list, from DPMV, says it's the Hasegawa kit for 19.99 euros.

Looks like the Revell 747-8 is their own tooling and not the ZVezda kit.
Reckon they're keeping some stuff back for announcement at the Nuremberg show, maybe some Classics and a (hopefully!) new tool or two?
