My personal thoughts: What a boring line-up.  :-\
A newly-tooled Hawk in 1/72? Why? It's quite unlikely that it's going to be any better than the recent Airfix effort. Even the old Italeri Hawk kit wasn't that bad. How many Red Arrows Hawk boxings does the world need? Seriously, they were looking for a new 1/72 jet kit (preferably with some appeal to the Brit market) and the one zillionth boxing of a Red Arrows Hawk is all they could come up with? If it had to be a small-ish jet, why not a new Alpha Jet? While it may not have the same appeal as an RA Hawk to the Brit market, at least it wouldn't have to compete with an up-to-date Airfix alternative. And it would have a stronger appeal to the German, French and Belgian market...
Oh well, at least the MiG-21F-13 and A-109 are making a comeback.

Yeap i have to agree, lots of re-issues and re-boxes, the re-tooled Halifax variant is good news, The Shackleton AEW is a shame as it clashes with Airfix and efforts would have been more appreciated by say a new tool C-130K Hercules if they wanted to cover the RAF, as that could cover many original version users. The Red Arrows Hawk in 72nd obviously follows the scaling down of the 32nd kit but the new Aermacchi 346 or the T-50 in 72nd would have probably been a wiser move. The 1/144 Flower class corvette is a nice touch but they could have gone with a slightly larger Frigate as they were sub hunters and some of those served post war in the West German Navy as well as others for that extra twist.

The 1/700th ex-Matchbox HMS Ariadne is good to see. She was a fast minelayer (same class as the Manxman done by Airfix in 1/600th) and had a very modern hull-line which makes her one of the better WWII donor hulls for whiffs. This means you can get one in both scales.

KiwiZac

Hi all,
Over at the KiwiModeller.com forums I saw mention of a rumour that Revell was planning a release of the Ibex 1/48 Beechcraft T-6A Texan II kit and that it may include RNZAF marks in the decal sheet.

I've Googled but can't find anything to back this up - does anyone have any further info, or at least heard this rumour as well?

Thanks in advance for any info - be it positive or shooting it down in flames!

could be true, Revell never announces all its new releases on the same date, the releases for the 4th quarter are always announced later (august/september). so there might be a possibility

Well it's not Revell USA - I got an email from them this morning:

"Hi Zac,
"They must have gotten us confused with someone else. We do not have any plans for the kit you describe. Sorry we couldn't help you."

Awaiting RoG's reply....

So either the rumour is debunked or something was lost in translation....for the record, I said Beechcraft T-6A Texan II in my email ;-)

"Dear Zac,
"many thanks for your mail and your included question. It´s indeed just a rumour, nothing is planned neither from us nor from our American friends from Revell-Monogram. As you know, Monogram did a 1/48 scale T-6 a couple of years ago, maybe there will be just a re-issue, there is no conversion planned as we know. We hope to have hereby been useful to you.

Isn't that the original FROG Meteor F4 kit?

I've got one in The Loft that says 3/11 on it......  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
