Earlier this year, I had a modeling friend who brought into our local club the Tamiya 1/32 scale P-51D and gave a review of it. From his experiences, he loved the kit and hardly found anything wrong with it. On a scale of 1-10, he gave it an 11.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Good news it looks like the Revell Hunter is going to be re-issued next march as part of their RAF centenary range, along with a RAF boxing of their new Typhoon

Thought you might like that, no idea which version of course but if they don't say on-line, then we can find out at Telford.

It doesn't matter which mark they produce really, for our purposes it's the availability of the raw material that's important. Colin will produce any extra bits and bobs that are required I'm sure.  ;D

The Wooksta!

There's also a Spitfire Vb in the line up.  Now whether that's the 1996 tool (sans gull wing) or a rework of the IIa we got last year is another question.  Personally, I'm hoping for the latter but suspect it'll be the former.  Which is bad, because we really need a new tool mainstream Vb, and preferably a Vc.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Is that the Scots Air Force?

I spoke to one of the reps on the Revell stand at Telford and he confirmed that they will be re-popping the Hunter kit in 2018. It'll be the FGA9 version and will probably contain new decals.

It's been reported that the Hunter is going to be £20. l asked about their 1/72 F-104 Starfighter and was told wait and see.

Some people are complaining about the price hike, but that's the nature of the business these days, will be interesting to see if they do anything new in 72nd aircraft for the rest of the year when the announce the rest at new years. Rumours were rife at SMW, following the lack of any big reveal that Airfix had cut back new tools this coming year although their are some obvious alternative versions to keep up numbers Phantom FGR2 and Victor Tanker would seem obvious, other Mitchells and maybe Wellington's spring to mind.
