It would be interesting to see who releases the Shackleton  MR.1 to go with the set?

You can get MR.1's from AlleyCat Models as well as the T4 version which is based on the MR.1

Thanks, I've got the remaining parts of the  T4 in the stash.

Wonder if it includes the Viper booster engines in the outer nacelles? If not, then AIM do a conversion, although it's for the old Revellofrog Shack.

That's if you get it within 6 months  of placing the order.  The money will come out of your account within days but you'll wait for the product for quite some time.

Got an email from Revell today advertising the Shackleton MR3 for pre orders and Hannants is saying the release date is July.

The instructions for the MR.3 are available for download on the Revell website, it definitely comes with The outer Griffons fitted with Vipers on the new sprue containing the MR.3 nose section and tip tanks. the original Griffon only outer engines are also included in the boxing. Top marks to Revell

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

See I made that happen by buying a pair of resin Vipers a few months ago - you're welcome. ;)
(Mind you, I have no intention of paying for a new Shack just to nick the wings off it, so my Revellofrog ones are still in play...)

Not sure how long it's been going on, but Revell Germany are now selling other manufacturers' kits thorugh their website, namely Hobby Boss, Meng, Trumpeter, Bronco, Heller and Eduard. At least in the case of Meng though, they're NOT the official distributor.

Smart move? It would seem to insulate them somewhat from the financial consequences of their own products flopping...

On some products they're a little cheaper than Hannants, on others they're dearer. Bear in mind though that they charge anywhere from EUR12.95 to EUR24.95 (EUR14.95 to the UK) for shipping to anywhere except Germany, which may well wipe out any saving.

The new Avro Shackleton MR.3 looks great,  although the weathering seems overdone in my opinion.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Revell Germany is a division of Airbus!  :o

That link reads just like an Airbus press release......

Did they re-cut the moulds of the old -320, -321, and -319 kits or what?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

It would be quite sensible of Airbus to help Revell of Germany with plans, drawings and other information as part of their general marketing operation. Especially now that they are a German company.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hmmmn.  Despite not wanting yet another Revell Shatipuss, I may have to get an MR3 as a wing donor for an RAF Avro Trader, using a Magna Ashton as a basis.  The Ashton wings may eventually be used by a Tudor fuselage to do the jet Tudor VIII.

I saw one these in my lms on Friday,  are they a new tool or another  frog repop. The pictures show  that it has the nose cannons,  just  wondering if  it actually has them in the kit.
