Watching the video I noticed one aircraft was, of all things, a Fulmar (2:35 +/-) & another looks like a Hurricane IIc (just the guns firing & part of the side of the aircraft shown).

I received my new Revell Avro Shackleton MR.3 a day ago and printed on the top of the box so you don't get it confused with the old kit is the word "NEW.
The viper jets do look good and once again the interior detail can't be see apart from the cockpit.
I have yet to build this kit  :banghead:

Sound track on that sounded like it belongs in a DOOM game/movie. :o

B-25D in 1/48 could tempt me. ;)

Are bringing out a series of  newly tooled 1/72 Pz 38t chassis based SP's. wonder if my eye sight will be up to it ?  :-\

But £17 for 1/72 armour ! and that's whilst we're still in the EU with no extra tariffs  :banghead:

What is the big cylinder on the Glacis supposed to represent exactly?

A Stadtgas cylinder.

Stadtgas = Town gas = coal gas.

The Germans used it quite a bit.

Quote from: wikipediaGas production in Germany

In many ways, Germany took the lead in coal gas research and carbon chemistry. With the labours of August Wilhelm von Hofmann, the whole German chemical industry emerged. Using the coal gas waste as feedstock, researchers developed new processes and synthesized natural organic compounds such as Vitamin C and aspirin.

The German economy relied on coal gas during the Second World War as petroleum shortages forced Nazi Germany to develop the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis to produce synthetic fuel for aircraft and tanks.

I suspected it might be but it would, in that size, offer very little range.   I was wondering if it might be some sort of "wunderwaffen"?   :o

The should employ The Chaos to build their small scale box art models for them.  He does a much better job than whoever built that one.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yup. Mind you I assume a lot of research went into to deciding to do them that way so as to make them seem more accessible to kids ? A lot of research and a lot of money that is

Plus you could snag the kids with:
"I like that, and I could do a much better job building it!"
Or:
"See, Johnny - adult builders still make the same mistakes you do, so you're not alone."

Don't know about any money involved, but I recall reading a post on a German forum by one of the guys who builds the models on the box sides (he was talking about some aircraft kits) that Revell specifically want it kinda "plain". No fancy weathering, no extra detail, just built according to what the instructions say. Truth in advertising? That's a new one, huh?  ;D
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

One of my good friends, now passed away sadly, did the box-top models for Airfix when they used pics of models on the lids, and they said the same thing. 'Build it OOB' and he took this to the very limits sometimes, so even the poorly moulded joint lines were visible on some box pics.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It's a good approach.  Not so much with models, but I remember getting several art presents when I was a kid when the box art looked nothing like my end result.  It could put me off doing it again.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
