The Starfighter F3A is coming-on nicely. The First photos here, show it in Light Aircraft Grey (under the wings and nose-cone), and Barley Grey. Masked-up and ready to receive the Medium Sea Grey.

Here it is fresh from central casting all pristine in its' shiny Medium Sea Grey with the masking removed. The tanks are held in place by friction alone    I have to admit I'm really pleased with the 'look' so far; it matches my warped imagination almost exactly.

As usual, thanks for looking. All comments, adverse, converse an perverse are welcome !

An RAF Starfighter is just wrong for so many reasons :)  It looks fantastic.

Sweet ! Looks very nice in those colours. Can't wait to see her in roundels !

The Strikey looks to be coming along nicely as well.....

What kind of tape are you using there ? I'm going to be gearing up for some airbrushing in the next couple of weeks, and am gonna need some advice on stuff like that.

And another thing....I've been saying, and hoping for years, that we coulf have some kind of 'type' pages here, where a guy could go and see all the cool 104s that have been made or dreamed of, and compare them to others ideas.

Cheers !

Toad....
I use Tamiya masking tape - that's the deep yellow stuff - for the sharp edged divisions. It is IMHO the best available BAR NONE !. Once I've defined the edge of a pattern with the Tamiya tape, I use any old commercial masking tape cut into appropriate lengths and shapes.

Word of caution
When using 'ordinary' masking tape I always stretch it out on my T-shirt and/or my trousers just to take some of the 'sticky' off. The last thing you want is your masking to rip-off your carefully applied paint scheme.

I wonder what the RAF pilots would have given as a nickname - IIRC the Luftwaffe guys called it the 'ground nail' after its tendency to bury itself nose-first at high speed

WOO HOO! Hand of God shots, I love it! C'est Magnificent.

Ian, you're so close, I'm so happy for you with how well-paced these two builds have been! I've a feeling these two aircraft will be absolute stunners when complete. Well done, Bravo Zulu, kudos and jolly good show!

And my vote's for Starfrighter.
