Yeah I know what you mean. I hate the M25 especially the 'North West Passage' It's always bloody busy.

As for the GSV's I'm going to have a think about what I need to support some of my display aircraft.

Well Making some progress, the RAF 2000 scheme is finished in 17 Sqdn colours.

The prototype example XR222 was done a couple of years ago

The RN VG version is assembled and painted, just awaiting the gloss coat prior to decalling. As its a Blackbeard kit, its a bit rough in areas, but doesn't look too bad at a distance.

The RAFG 1970's of 31 Sqdn is assembled, working on the cockpit then the Pylons prior to painting it in DG/DSG over LAG armed with 4 x Megaton Martels.

Once the RN version is out of the way, i shall start the next one, which will be Canadian i think. However i'm not sure if should do a modern version in an overall dark grey scheme, or an early 80's version in standard NATO colour from West Germany. I'm not sure what the Canadians use in the way of Bombs US or UK ?.

Another planned version will be the other one from Canada. Also planned is an RAF EW/WW bird of 100 sqdn, possibly fitted with the US jamming pods of a Prowler (a £2.49 from Wilko's) and either Martel, Shrike or Alarm. The problem is what scheme to paint it and from when !!!!. The choices are standard 70's colours. 80's Wraparound, 90's Greys or go for the higher altitude Hemp/LAG colour scheme. Another option would be a Gulf War scheme either Desert Sand from 1991 or Barley Grey from 2003.

Anyway heres the link to the work so far as i don't think MSN photo's work as an image.

My TSR-2 's - so far

Whoops almost forgot, i was able to pick up Beford MK tactical refueller and a Hard top Landrover by JB models over the Weekend so getting some support vehicles. Now wondering how to get one of those GD VTOL built as an RAF Harrier repalcement as a joint US/UK program instead of the Harrier II.

Looking smart, Thor.  Just wish I could find the enthusiasm for my own, altho the VG one now has a wing(!) in place, and I'm cleaning up the two Blackbeard ones, so the vast rotating carousel is sort of moving along.

However, I should be getting some of that liquid plastic resin soon, and I want to try it in the TSR2 moulds, especially the wing. More as and when.

Geoff_B

Hi Wooksta/Skorp

I suppos the Meteors have put you off track a bit recently, and with all the TSR-2's you have planned i can understand you flagging a bit. Thats why i posted mine to boost my own interest. The kits themselves are a bit unforgiving, oh for a nice revell or hasegawa version that we can get our teeth into, these resin ones can be a bind at times (Wing Join, fitting out cockpit, aligning U/C, fitting the Canopy   - that a real pain in the bum !!!!!, etc)

The VG version is actually slightly shorter with a longer radome, and i'm toying with the idea of fitiing a pair of Pheonix missiles on the wing glove pylons (tried torndo ones but they looked to weedy and were to close to the wong glove )

I'll start the cutting on my fifth one next weekend i hope !!!!.

Cheers

Looking great Thor!  A couple of suggestions tho.  The modern RAF one, I would suggest some heavy weathering - these would be *old* birds by now, complete with oil leaks etc from every orifice such as the grey Lightnings exhibited in their last days.  It looks very glossy as well, is that just the flash or is it awaiting a matt coat?  I ask cos the modern grey schemes are very matt.

As for your suggestion for the 100 squadron scheme, for me it has the be the early 70s DG/DSG/LAG with full colour roundels and a glossy fininsh!  My favourite!

Hi Nev

Its mainly the flash i think as its had a blast with Satin Coat. I'll have a think about weathering it a bit more.

So traditional 70's scheme is your favourite, so i would have to add a few extra aerials and sensors, and fit maybe Anti radar Martel or Shrike.

XR225 - in the desert scheme (it does exist for the TSR2, but I'm not posting it as I want to be the first to do it!).

I also want to have a go at the courier version with a passenger forward fuselage.  Does anyone have the wreckage of a Hawker Siddley HS125 Dominie?
In other words, he doesnt want a repeat of the P-1121 in firebirds red again. :P
Ie me beating him to it.

And yes I have a trashed Matchbox Hs-125 lying around someware lee.  Ill dig it out ready for the nationals.

Ive knocked up a stand, not what we had in mind Lee but totaly useable on smaller displays as well, Its made from an old flat pack TV unit, and is a nice dark redish brown veneer. Not quite sure yet as to how many TSR's it will hold but Ill work that out once ive delt with my own build q.

As for my list.
RAF 9 sqd circa 1988ish 2 tone grey/green. (ye oldie one thats been around awhile)

JBG31 25th aniversary scheme Over all Blue/covered in stars. (currently beeing
decaled).

SAAF Screechhawk (any one speak africaance? I could use that being translated)
Same scheme as their Mirage F-1's wore. (Waiting its turn to be finnished).

As to #4. Ive still not made up my mind, as its the 2nd hand semi built Arbba one im toying with doing as per one of the survivers, or posibly as a first batch member in the early cammo scheme lee sent me

I always hope for the best.

Hi Wooksta

The 31Sqdn bird is mid 70's with Tactical roundels. Hopefully i should be able to start spraying it at the weekend. Looks like another will be in a similar scheme but as an EW/WW bird ( fit those wing tip sensor pods ). The other two will be Canadian i think, unless that Flashman  scheme starts to grow on me or the Telic scheme with the MA nose art.

Hi Wooksta

Could you send us your Camoflage pattern for the TSR-2, so at least they should look similar pattern wise.

Cheers

GeoffB

Ogwash

Hi Lee

Yes you did send it to us, but it went when my PC blew last month, taking out my HDD. As for the site i did a quick search but it appears that the photos from the old site have been lost in the migration.

Currently doing the DSG, so will add the Green later this week, once that one is done i'll start the assembly on the next version, either an EW,WW in 70's colours, an EW/WW in the Flashman scheme, with the Prowler pods, and Alarm and plently of bumps and aerials. Or maybe a Canadian example in the traditional bomber role (must check the Canadian Bomber sqdn numbers from WWII for a current unit)

Also got to knock together the Storm Shadow for you and a drone for Martin

Cheers

Captain Canada

My TSR.2 will be 1Air Div RCAF, or CAF...in the NATO camo scheme.......not sure about the unit, tho. I am partial to the boys at Baden-Soellingen, tho.

I may just scratch up a VICON camera pod and have her in the recce role...but it would look good bombed up !

Cheers !
