BlackOps

I want to show solidarity for my compadre John Howling Baz,
so I've decided to do a quick build of my own to share in his
freedom from perfection!

OK this isn't really much of a challenge for me since my builds
are no where near Barry's level but hey I'm here for ya man!

I've decided to build a 1/72 Airfix Beaufighter with a twist.
I'm gonna add a buncha guns and call it a tank buster! My
Beaufighter is going to be hanging out in the Desert maybe
Africa to help defeat Rommel's Armored Juggernaut.

Not going to be real specific as to what armament it will
have...keepin' it fun just like when we were kids...just
has to look cool :)  OK, so I will have to do a little
scratchbuilding but nothing elaborate.

Here is the start, I have about an hour into it but that's not
really amazing since this kit doesn't have a whole lotta parts
to start with.

Looking sharp, Jeff! A Beaufighter tankbuster...what a great idea! That RAF desert scheme is always an eye-catcher.

Holy keerrrrrrap, man: that IS impressive!!  One hour and you've already got an airframe you can fly around the house.  Cool!  Looks clean too: no filler required?

Please do keep the progress pics coming.

At least one Beau was fitted with two 40mm cannon in the belly. Why not try something like that?

Did a little more work tonight. I mean c'mon it's gotta have guns  :)

Excellent stuff mate!

Kinda an raf version of the Hs126 with the big cannon.  The RAF did put an 6-pounder on their mossies...

Sweet ! I like that first pick, when she's got nowt on her. Something about models without paint...kinda reminds me of being a kid !

Great idea about the tank buster. Kinda looks like a bunch of broom handles for 'dusting off' Rommels tanks !

Very cool.  How much do all the guns slow down her airspeed once they're all lit up????   ^_^

I've got an Airfix Beaufighter sitting around doing nothing at the moment, I might do something like this mark V, suitably whiffed though.

BlackOps

Tonight, did a little work on the belly and some paint ops  ;)

I have to tell you I had to fight the urge to do a bunch of sanding and get out the airbrush, but I am still having fun  :D

If in doubt...add weathering, silver chipping and it'll help detract the eye from any of the imperfections that might otherwise disturb.
I had a sink hole that I hadn't filled on my Hawk II so just added an aerial wire....result, no sink hole!
