I had been trying to picture this since you first mentioned it, and it looks exactly as cool as I thought it  would. To echo a few earlier post, waht are ye doing with the leftover bits? A straight-wing, piston-engined Badger would look completely and totally badass. Oh, and try not to throw or break anything impotant while sanding and puttying that fuse/wing gap. :D

Wow! This generated alot of interest, I'd better get on and make it.

I *might* use the left over bits to make a piston engined straight wing Badger, but I would shorten the fuselage and combine the engines into pusher/puller pairs.

Proposed marking scheme remains classified, but I don't think you'll be disappointed!  :P

Not much progress to report; I'm still working on the 1,000 piece interior. But I did take some time out from assembling 1/72 seats, etc. to make the empennage:

Well spats DO add to the look and coolness factor of any aircraft! ;)

I am really really impressed with your work on that tail Simon! It looks sooo right like that! I can't wait to see your next batch of progress shots on this one!

Here's a couple "excuses" to spat-up any aircraft that doesnt have them:P

1. The aircraft is a prototype and they simply couldnt get the undercarriage to retract properly before hitting a deadline for first flight.

2. Experimental "rough field" landing gear. :tank:

3. The aircraft is meant for one-way long distance trips and doesnt have any undercarriage to save weight. After take off, it all jettesons, spats and all.

But how does it land then?

It wouldnt. Such applications would be for kamekazes and ultra-long distance bombers where the crews would ditch the plane at sea on the way back, hopefully to be rescued.

But then it couldnt go on another bombng mission

Good looking start, even if its just the mock-up.  Please keep the updates coming.

My current Monday - Friday commuting regime leaves little time for modelling but this is coming together...

All of the gun turrets have been blanked off as it will be deployed in a non-belligerent role. I wish I had another Badger kit to make it 4 engined but I'm not going to drop €40 to do it.
