I recently came across this ebay shop - http://stores.ebay.com.au/ECKOREA?_rdc=1

The fellow who runs it sells primarily Academy kits as well Trumpeter.  They are very cheap and even better, they ship from Korea for free!

I ordered a kit from him on 9 Dec'10 and it arrived today, which is pretty good considering the seasonal rush.

Highly recommend him.

I have him down as a favourite seller too Rick, but not bought anything from him as yet, he does sell some pretty obscure stuff too.

I'll be purchasing more from him in future.  I was pleasantly surprised with the speed in the middle of the Christmas rush.

Lots of stuff

Academy have a new Hummer, the M1151 with all the bits from those 'unmentionable' places.  Looks like all the aftermarket sets have just be superseded.

I would love it if they did 1/72 versions of their stuff.

Academy have a new 35th Humvee for release.  Whether it's a challenge to the Bronco kit is another matter, but I believe the Bronco kit is rather more expensive.

I don't know about this kit, but the Academy Humvees are very nice, especially for the price (compared to Tamiya or Bronco) and better than the Italeri ones. Their M998 based kits are excellent, so I expect this one to be a good alternative to the Bronco kit. The difference in list price is enough to get you some aftermarket resin figures or weapons.

I agree wholeheartedly.  I've never had an issue with Academy kits.  Always found them detailed and fairly priced.  This kit also includes a standing gunner which I think is a first for the vehicle, rather than no figures or those merely riding in the vehicle.

Build up pics of the kit here: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10146575 seem quite nice indeed.

The Bronco kit is roughly double the price and whilst it does come with quite a few extras (weapon options, etc), I really wonder if it would be worth it in the long run.  I guess one of each would be the easiest comparison, but that would also mean the opportunity for three of the Academy kits!!

I bought the Bronco M1115 on sale for about the Academy kit's list price; I'll probably get the Academy one as well. The only obvious difference between the two is the lack of maker mark on the tires. But "Goodyeap" on the Bronco is not that great of an improvement.

Who makes the T-50 then, and is it available in 1/72 too?

I mean the 1/1 scale version, sorry.

Hi Kit
Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) makes the full size aircraft but I don't think anyones doing a 1/72 version yet, but with Academy doing it in 1/48 they just may scale it down to 1/72 as they did with the F-22.  ;D
