I didn't realize the F-4J was a snap-together kit. That has to be the most parts-intensive snap kit ever!

Uhhh, I guess then you've not built any Bandai Gundam kits?  ;)

Actually I have  - lemme rephrase - that has to be the most parts-intensive aircraft snap kit ever!

Latest Academy stuff in at Hannants. Note the 1/48th modern armour: those would make nice mix'n'match whiffs with the Airfix British stuff wouldn't they?

Didn't Revellogram do a 1/48 Doolittle Mitchell a zillion years ago? I remember doing one for a shop window display ages back. This one HAS to be an improvement as the one I did fitted terribly and needed half a ton of Green Stuff to fill the gaps.  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I think the Mitchell is the Accurate Miniatures tool ?

Certainly. I've only built a couple of AM kits (wrong scale normally) and they are very good

strobez

I'm a bit surprised that in 18 pages worth of threads, there was no topic on Academy kits.  Does no one like them? I have to admit some bias... living here in Seoul, Korea, they have dominant market share and have turned me into a fan (and the domestic wholesale pricing also helps a lot).

I've been trying to gather information (albeit mainly to update Scalemates) on Academy releases, but if anyone here is interested...
Thanks!

Greg

Old Wombat

There isn't? :o

Wow! I've got a fair number of Academy kits; mostly armour ... Possibly all armour.

I really must make a spreadsheet up of what I actually own. :-\
