Oh babies, we're rockin'

Been thinking...

Teutonic Knights....black hulls, white turrets
Knights Templar....black hulls, white turrets.

Obviously these are similar, but have distinguishing features.
The Teutonic Knights have BLACK crosses as insignia, the Templars RED.

Knights of St.John (Hospitallers)...black hulls, red turrets, white crosses.

The Inquistion...Blood Red Hulls, white turrets, red crosses on turrets.

Etc., etc.,

Lots of scope for personal emblems too, especially for visting Knights.....black hulls plus full, decorated heraldic turrets

rock and Roll babies     :tank:

The Leopard 2A6 received a warm welcome at IPMS Stafford last night.
There was some related chat too.....

someone suggested there should be a glass bowl on the rear of the tank.....to keep the "salad-in".....

a suggestion was made to have chainmail "skirts" in the same way the Russians have thick rubber skirts on their T-72s, etc.

and now a classic suggestion, knowing that the Teutonic Knights welcomed visiting knights, and in Lithuania, even arranged special "Crusades" in their honour....how about the same arrangement in the Middle East.
The suggestion was a "Rasta Knight" from the West Indies!
Old, beaten up T-55, with possibly a mixture of tatty chainmail skirts and corrugated iron add-on armour?
Black, weathered hull, but turret in "rasta" colours of red, yellow, green and black. The fuel tanks at the back being turned 90 degrees to become vertical, so they become instruments in the STEEL BAND, BIG HAIR on the drivers/crew and a loud speaker system for the Bob Marley music??

Eh????

Also, another suggestion that was made that I'll follow through quickly, like NEXT.
I thought it through on the way home.....Knights that have received severe injuries in the form of loss of a limb or two, could form the "Order Of The Knights That Say Ni"
Thinking black hull, white turret with big painted purple cross. Suitably dis-armed crew members!
What d'ya think??  :tank:    :tank:

Terry do the regular Stafford members realise what you have done to them ? :P

Quite.
Yes, they look forward to being entertained regularly.

Watched a bit of "Alexander Nevsky" last night at daughter's while babysitting (it was on Sky). Brilliant...lots of naughty Teutonic Knights.

I'll watch it in full tonight possibly as we've the DVD.
ESSENTIAL viewing!!!

Also had a thought about the Polish Winged Hussars.....

I've a Grant tank (Tamiya 1/35th) cut out.....it could be done either as :

resisting the Mongol Hordes as they move West
or
aiding the Byzantium Empire against the Turks.

Circa 1939 anway.

Academy 1/35th M48A5K....probably Templars or Hospitallers

Painting almost done, completion tomorrow pm on the lot.
The "new" one, the SesquE5A of Father James Bigglesworth of The Inquisition is all over Blood Red. It's been sprayed in red primer, and then there'll be drybrushings tomorrow in various shades of red for a tatty appearance, as it shows Father Bigglesworth's SesquE5A after long service at the Front and after the combat in which he shot down the Grand Mufti of Bahgdad

Lots more planned....rockin'

Got a General Lee tank (Tamiya 1/35th).
Thinking.....black hull, white turret with suitable markings (Templars?) and personal heraldry on that tiny turret at the top.

obviously a general lee tank should be orange with "01" on each side, and a confed. flag on the roof.

House of Duke...

or Le Duc D'Hazzard's personal mount.

ahem.

Right having returned from the "Discworld Convention", sobered up and "past" the last reminders of Saturday's curry   I've finally got my "Saracen" tank purchased.

Revell 1/72 T-72 - she will be done as a Sassinian vehicle in the service of the "King of King's" and will await my Lord Radish at MAM in September !

Got a bit fed up tonight, so rocked with some  music dvds..."Whitesnake-Still Of the Night" and "Judas Priest-Rising In The East"....

so made up a SMER Mercer Racer 1912 (probably an Israeli jeep) and a newly delivered M41 Walker Bulldod that'll be a Crusader tank....light, on reconnaisance duty.

I'll finish the baggage, stowage, etc. tomorrow and spray them both up tomorrow night!!
Thursday...PAINTING....bonzer!!

Also, just ordered a Lindberg Gloster Gladiator and Bristol Bulldog that I'm not sure about yet, and 3 more SE5As that will be Crusader aircraft....again. :P
