Bet if you did a 1/32 version it would really have them going at a model show.

I love it, she looks amazing. That is a hell of a build you've done there. Oh, like you I like Russian aircraft as well.

  Kinda reminds me of the "new and upcoming" soviet fighters that can be found in copies of Janes from back in the early to mid 1950s. With all these migs and sukhois coming out, they had trouble figuring out which is which, and often featured illustrations with mixed up details.

I love it!

I take it by the even numbered designation and weapons load that the mig-20 is primarily a bomber? Have you figured out a NATO reporting name yet?

Completely FREAKIN' AWESOME!     Very cool idea :)

Beautifully executed I might add.

Great work! Congratulaions for this hybrid...
The transition from the MiG-19 to the MiG-21 (and the MiG-21 derivatives) give me headache. There was really a huge bunch of prototypes at the time (I-75 and the like).

French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Well, the swept-wing preMiG-21 prototype E-2A was designated the "Faceplate." Perhaps it could be reused for this one.

Completely believeable. Just like the P-36/DB601 you posted last week. Great work, looking forward to seeing many more !

This reminds me of some of the early guesstimates (circa-1972) of what the Shenyang A-5 looked like.  An Italian magazine did a drawing of a Mig-19/-21 hybrid that looked quite similar.

QuoteHere you can see warload, RATO and special devices in undercarriage, like in Su-7 BKL
Fantastic. Simply fantastic.  Love those Soviet craft designs, yours fits right in.

You are right: I envisaged it as a tactical biomber to fit the even number. But I did not think about the NATO reporting name.

Good point!
I INVITE ALL OF YOU TO FIND ONE.

In my opinion, "Faceplate" is not a good choice as it was a much lighter and sleeker plane: a pure fighter. By the way, I am working in a model of this plane, from the Airfix MiG-21 and the wings of a Heller MiG-19.

I did it some years ago, before I got a digital camera and before this forum existed.

Cooler than cool.

Given its origins how about 'Fishfarm'  :D

Or, if you find that too trite, maybe 'Fingerbob'? or Fallback?

Beeeeeautiful model, it looks close to one of the prototypes in 'Russian Secret Projects - Fighters' but not too close to spoil its whiftasticness.
