One there to please a few people:-

1/72 scale I.A.I. Lavi  Fierce lion from Israel - Oct 2006

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Runway ? ...

It should be one for the list but the '63 isn't properly fugly nor is it particularly good looking 'copter so I'll have to think a bit. Maybe get more of these  http://www.anigrand.com/AA2022_S-67.htm  :)  The Lavi is a fine looking bird though.

that's really rocks! Imagine the number of whatif we can do around this model

First, obvious, IDF AF Lavi (in the cool camo of the F-16)
South African Lavi (to replace their Cheetah)
Agressor Lavi (F-24 ? :P )
Lavi with big dorsal spine and conformal fuel tanks, a la F-16I
Lavi for RAF (interim type pending the Typhoon arrival...ETPS markings!!!!)
Syrian Lavi (they got their hands on one)
Chinese Lavi (J-9II?)
Any others idea?

Hmm, might be enjoyable to do a corrected one.  I've been given to understand that the two-bladed rotor was the Achilles heel of the YAH-63, something about canopy strikes.  Switch it to a four-bladed rotor and model it that way.

Yep rotor-bounce became a serious problem when Bell atempted to grow their two-bladed rotor past a certain point.
Had a weird experience with a 214B Heavy Lifter with its enormous twin-blade setup...I was working in the Avionics shop of Helipro inBellingham, WA at the time, and we had a 214B visiting that we had been doing work on. The owner/pilot Tommy (who'se Rottweiler accompanied him everywhere in the chopper) was on the ramp running some tests and at one particular point as he brought the speed up the hangar walls started resonating, as did our guts. The office window was bowing in and out in time with the rotors and we were all becoming increasingly nauseous as he sat there holding that speed. My boss ran out and signaled him to either cut the throttle or take off...thankfully he sped up and flew off. It was truly one of the strangest experiences of my life...it felt like someone was forcibly massaging your guts.

SAAB and the swedish air force cooperated with Israeli Aircraft Industries, to lower development costs. Denmark and Norway buy the SAAB Lion-cub, and later so do Poland, Hungaria, Mexico and the Czech republic! Souh africa license produces some SAAB-IAI Lavis, renamed as the Simba! Finland decides to go Lavi, coz it is more cheap than F/A-18. India gets 127, of which some are Sea-lavi`s, made for the new aircraft carriers!

Clicking Anigrand links always leave me asking more questions than they answer.  I'm more than familiar with the YAH-63 and AH-64, but what in heck were the Boeing AAH and the Lockheed CL-1700?  Evan?  Anybody?

Never mind, I answered my own question, compliments of helis.com.

Boeing Vertol Number Unknown

QuoteThe proposal for the US Army AAH competition.  Only a mock-up, not built.

Lockheed CL-1700

Quotea Cheyenne derivative

I always thought the Cheyenne was beautiful, but that "derivative" is hideous.  The Boeing model isn't very easy on the eyes either.

If they keep this up, maybe a Kamov V-100 won't be too far down the road.

Oops - didn't see that. ( hits self over head "must buy new house first" )

Wonder if the Lavi kit will be for the 2 seater shown in the pic, the single seater, or both ?
